I just received my kid in the mail I really like it. I don’t do camping and I really don’t have a need for it but one of my goals this year was to start stocking up on all the basics water food be able to cook provide heat, shelter, and coolingall without the grid, so this is just one more piece of the puzzle.

They really need to make those fire starters easier to detach. Like a clip on. They’re such a pain in the ass. Lol

I hear what you're saying and agree, BUT, I took it off via the end (pop out) the tab, removed and tied it to another lanyard with a carabiner. 🤘😎

Good video. High quality shots. I loved at the end as the fire started in the yard, made it's way to the house, and everything went up. But! The wall was saved.

While I'm glad to see how this works; I lived most of my life in Nashville and this silly skit used to come on, on weekends on public access TV and your manner of speaking reminds me so much of this: kzread.info/dash/bejne/a35r1biTlJmfpdo.html

The fuel is simply wax😂. That's what makes it waterproof. Rechargeable waterproof Arc lighter can be sourced for ten to fifteen dollars even with a flashlight and emergency whistle. Half-inch by 5 ferrocerium can be sourced for $5 with a striker. Heavy braids cotton rope 1 inch diameter can be sourced literally for a couple of cents per foot when bought in bulk or about a dollar per foot in smaller amounts; you don't even get two feet in their kit. As they are 5.5 inch long per stick. As far as the little carry pouch those can be sourced for like $2 it's not even high quality. Yet the retail on this thing is 120 dollars 🤔🤣🤣🤣. I'll build my own thanks. I've been making my own fire starters and fire rope for years before Blackbeard was even heard of. Don't get me wrong it does work and it does work well. But it's way overpriced for what it is

@@outdoorsliving464 yes sir, I do the exact same thing. And the wax is essentially free. What I do is, all of my friends and family know that I collect wax and spent candles. So whenever they have a candle that the WIC fails on, rather than throwing it away they send it to me. I then clean and render the wax, add a little bit of coconut oil, and process it into pucks or bars about the size of soap. Then I use this wax oil blend for multiple different forms of emergency fire starters. Yet commercial fireplugs will charge you nearly $20 for a pack of 50 plugs when you can buy the dental wads for pennies on the dollar and make thousands for the same price if your sourcing free wax like I do. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm not saying that the commercial products don't work. What I'm saying is that they prey on people's ignorance for something that is so simple to make. They say if you give a man a fish he will eat for a day but if you teach him to fish he will eat for a lifetime. Same with this stuff if you give someone a fire starter they will light a few fires. But if you teach them how to make fire starters, they will never want for fire again.
