BJJ Techniques - Lots of Submissions from Side Control

Спорт

Some of my favorite, high-percentage submissions from side control. Mostly arm locks, but a couple chokes mentioned here. Let me know what you think, like, subscribe and all that.

    Here’s what i do when i’m trolling youtube for submissions. If i find a sub i intend on practicing, i add it to a playlist called mma training. The night before you intend on using the move, right before you’re going to go to sleep, watch the video over and over and commit the steps of the sub to memory. Go to sleep and practice with a training partner the next day. Always works for me.

  • @estoylaroca
    @estoylaroca5 жыл бұрын

    Thank you Coach. I really just love how thorough your teaching methods are. I mean, it's very close to actual practice, wherein if you want to set up say an americana, there are a lot of factors that can go wrong, and if you were *ONLY* taught how to do an americana, you're basically useless when one thing goes wrong. Also with this kind of teaching, it makes us learners *OPEN OUR EYES* to actually what is happening around us. As a white belt, I truly have only limited # amount of chokes, but when I saw that scarf hold series of moves, I audibly said "wow" because I do find myself in those scenarios when sparring and thinking to myself "what the hell can I do here?". And that helps a lot! Sparring with fellow white belts, it does seem that you just got into stale mate a lot of times since you don't know what to do next, and is too tired to brute force anything. With these techniques, even though you might not get a submission, it helps that because of that "pressure" you can go into another position for more opportunities. Seriously, I can't thank you enough with these videos. I hope you don't get tired reading all my thank you's.

    This channel is awesome. Just wanted to say thank you. Such great tips for free on KZread. I'm paying a decent amount to train but to get these explanations and walk throughs are extremely valuable. I'm new and where I train they show you a short 5 minute technique that you repeat with a partner for 5 to 10 minutes and then you basically start the intense rolling and find out that what I just learned doesn't work against someone who knows what they are doing and im limited on my different approaches to escapes or survival time. So thanks again!

Although wrestling helps i find myself in side control a lot but i dont know what to do. I tend to go for a head and arm and see if i can get a choke that way but against top ranked belts that does not work. I will be learing these moves thanks a lot!!!!!!!

    Thank you for the video! As a judoka, I like using the connection between the scarf hold techniques at 6:28 and 7:10 .Small difference in the approach though : *I don't give up the trapped arm first* as it is one of the most crucial element of the scarf hold (so that your opponent is deprived of mobility). Instead, *I use my arm under my opponent's armpit first to wrap his arm* (the one trying to frame under my chin) like a kind of reversed "whizzer" and I look away. I feel that it gives me good control of the arm and it moves it away from under my throat. *Only then I catch the wrist with my other hand* , either to apply waki gatame ( as in 7:10 ) or to *switch back to ude garami/kimura (as in **6:28**) whenever my opponent resists by bending his arm or if I feel I don't have enough momentum* .
