To be fair Jan has pretty damn insane power too and could hold his own against Izzy on the feet. That being said he should definitely take it to the ground as he could have a big advantage there, at least a way bigger one than on the feet.

He dominated Izzy on the feet and the ground. He double Izzy striking output, and connected on 15% more of strikes thrown. On top of that he landed 30 more significant strikes than Izzy.

Tru. I agree. I feel the most important factor that helped Jan win against Izzy was his ability to keep Izzy down and stay heavy on top. There is no reason he can't do that to Alex too I imagine. But* I think Alex has a bit more power than Izzy, and Alex throws w more power each punch if that makes sense. I get a feeling he will catch Jan but I could be wrong ofc

Jan is one of the few fighters that actually fights at his weight class. A 6'2 man fighting at 205lbs is probably the most believable weight/height ratio in the UFC.

Height isn't a great metric for that. There are 6'2/6'3 guys at lightweight. No one fights "at their weightclass", one should get as much of an advantage as one can.

Exactly and also that was the Alex v Izzy 1 MMA fight. During the second fight Alex was way more prepared to wrestle and was destroying Izzy with the leg kicks, until he got caught with the jab and kod.

I remember a few years ago how stacked LHW was when Jon was leaving, but then things kinda went pear-shaped after that. Santos came back from his knee injuries and just wasn't close to the same guy he was before, he prolly woulda been champ if not for them imo. Then after Jan beating the crap outa the guy who deserved the win over Jones, Reyes, Dom gets chinned by Jiri and hasn't been able to take a punch since. Walker basically became a glass cannon over night, though he's changed his strategy superbly of late to account for his inability to take big shots to the dome anymore. Craig's demonstrated that he just has zero stand-up, Roundtree will look terrifying in one fight and then underwhelming as hell in the next, Ank is pretty boring imo and simply doesn't garner any sort of real numbers for the UFC in terms of ppv, Glover retired, Rakic had that bad leg injury a yr ago, Jan's getting old and has slowed down quite a bit over the last couple fights, Jiri got injured, and then to top it all off - now Hill's been injured. If both Jiri and Hill come back and look the same as they did before - then yeah this division will def bounce back, but that's only if. And for Hill's Achilles injury, he'll be out for half a year before he's even able to really start training again, let alone start fighting. Right now, the division desperately needs Alex an Jan to be a banger, and for the winner, (hopefully Alex, though i love Jan too), to get a tittle shot, and for Jiri to be back and able to fight again before the year is out. But, we don't even know if he'll be able to go by then, so they may end up having to do a new champ fight between the winner of this fight and i dunno... Krylov, Ank, or Walker...maybe Rakic - I dunno?! I do though def agree with you that there are plenty of good fighters at LHW, enough to rejuvenate the division, that is if people were to stop getting injured lol.
