I am watching this video and finding out that Queen Uniek has passed away. I am shocked and heartbroken! I’m so sorry Yvonne for your loss. She was so special. Hers and Rising Star’s story was so beautiful. I will miss her terribly but at least you will have her foal. This is a very sad day.

The announcement was posted in communities last week, but not all devices can access that. Uniek passed away at 10 PM on April 4 at the emergency equine hospital due to a medical emergency. Yvonne will tell us more when she can. Mod Shelly 🧡🧡

Have a look in the Community section where Yvonne explains what happened. I had to pluck up the courage to read it, as I was so shocked and saddened when I realised that she had passed away. Lots of tears are flowing all over the world. ✌️🇦🇺

Oh Yvonne, you have been through so much the last 2 years, both up & down: buying Uniek, losing her foal but getting Risey, Uniek's arthritis, your terrible accident, building your own dream stable, Risey's wobbler disease, Coralle becoming a surrogate for Uniek, and now this, losing Uniek in such a sudden terrible way. You are so very strong to keep putting one foot in front of the other; your blessings are your darling boys & Bauke, your wonderful friends, the foals Wunder & Ifke, and now a whole new batch of foals, 3 of them on the way (& at least 2 of them here already!) to comfort you. I hope it is not too hard for you seeing Uniek in videos when your grief is so fresh. She was what we call your "heart horse;" but the heart is a thing that gets bigger the more you give away, & you have plenty of room in your heart for all the lovely horses that will be coming. I already see a very special relationship between you & Ifke---you were her milk-bucket Mem & she is very close to you. I hope your heart heals a little every day with the wonderful new additions to your stable & the caring people who surround you.

I've been bracing myself for the video of Uniek's last day. And as hard as it'll be to watch it, I know it was immensely harder to live it and my heart goes out to Yvonne and everyone who shared their day to day life with such a special horse. At the same time I try to hold onto the idea that she did leave a legacy behind in Rising Star, the foster foal that she loved at first sight and her little filly. Horses like Uniek come once in a lifetime and we are all better for knowing her, even if it's only through videos.

I read Yvonne’s lengthy post in the YT “Community section” April 25, 2024. I couldn’t stop crying the entire day. Since then I’ve watched numerous Queen Uniek videos. Yvonne received 3 photo books of Queen Uniek from a YT Member. The gifts are so beautiful. I recommend watching that video. ❤RIP QUEEN UNIEK❤

Rising Star will always carry Uniek's spirit with him and remind us all of his beautiful Mama and their very special story and bond; a very fitting 'unique' story. @@phoebebrown2883 It's on the community tab. She became sick very suddenly and was taken to the horse hospital. Unfortunately she became worse and needed to be euthanized because of her pain as it couldn't be corrected. The videos lag a bit behind of the current situation.

I also like that your young boys are on the horses more and more, and that they recognized Wunder! My heart goes out to you for the death of Uniek. But you have Belle to carry on her memories.

There was a VLOG of Yvonne when she had Reintje inseminated not long after Yfke joined us. And then a later VLOG confirming she was in foal. I had my doubts at one point because she seemed to be pretty interested in Risey a couple of times, shortly after he was arrived over to stay at Stahl H. I thought maybe she had lost the foal or something and was coming into heat. But someone confirmed she was still in foal. It’s unfortunate that they won’t all foal around the same time. I hope they’re all fillies this year. I would imagine that Yvonne is still in the process of building up her Foundation mares for Stahl H. 😊

It's heartbreaking to hear of Uniek's passing. My deepest sympathies for your loss. She was such an amazing horse. I've followed your channel since the video of her accepting Rising Star as her own. She will be deeply missed.

I am not going to lie this is very rough for me! Uniek was my favorite mare because, she was just so sweet and was just a super and awesome mare, I miss her so I know you feel it worse then all of us Yvonne and I truly am sorry for that. Uniek loved you a lot and you loved her a lot. Uniek will not be forgotten. Thank you for All you do and for who you are. Yvonne you are a very special lady to all of us. The beautiful Queen Uniek ❤ We will always cherish the time she was on earth, but I know she is now extremely happy over the 🌈 with her foals in heaven. ❤ I do believe we all will see our precious pets in heaven, but only after we fulfill our time on earth. Everytime we see Risey, we will remember Uniek and how she loved and cared for him. It will be wonderful to see Belle grow up with her surrogate mem Coralle. I think she will look a lot like Uniek! ❤

​@@dariaduest5275Daria, Yvonne sent out a notice by letter. It just came up in my feed list of topics last Friday, April 5. Yvonne said that on April 4, Uniek appeared to be in pain. She gave her pain medication. But relief didn't last long. After time, Uniek got worse and taken to a Vet. She seemed to be in worse pain as time went on. X-rays showed a possible rip in her stomach. I think that's it, but someone can correct me if I got that wrong. It could not be repaired. She was in too much pain. Yvonne and the Vet thought it best to put her to sleep. 10 p.m. last week on Thursday. It's heartbreaking! 💔 Some persons said that you can look up the Community Section and the announcement is there.

I have to laugh at the squeaks and squels from Risey and Bibi as they interact hahahaha

Risey really likes his special girl Bibi! 🥰 I'm so thankful for the promise of new life, and the arrival of the foals is a blessing during this time of loss and sadness. ❤

The thought of Uneik's passing still hurts. But seeing Risey in love and knowing two and soon three new foals have arrived makes it a little easier. Can't wait to see Yvonne bonding with Belle.🐎😊

It appears Risey is healing with the exercises, brushing and the attentions of the sweet Bibi.

Take your own time in getting any video about Uniek together. I know how hard you and your family must be grieving and how hard it must be to see Uniek as you edit these videos. When I see her in these, though, I remind myself I am looking at a horse who is loved, cared for, and is living a horse's best life in your stable. Every single day of her life with you was filled with that and it shows in your videos. I hope Risey's affection is returned by Bibi! It is so cute to see him with her. And we have three little babies to look forward to. What fun!

Yes, I was just thinking yesterday, Teije has only just been talking about Dribbel (though I do realise the videos are a bit old, but that was Christmas time round about: only 4 months ago), and now there's Uniek. That's hard for the youngsters. Also, Rein chose to name the horses on his clogs Uniek, and then Saly, so I think those must be his favourite horses. Hard. So very hard. Having said that, yes, they couldn't possibly be more loved or better cared for animals.

​@@m.k.7898 Hello, if you tap on "Friesian Horses", you will see where it says Videos, Shorts, and a couple other things, scroll to the right and you will see "Community". Scroll down a couple posts and Yvonne somehow was able to tell us all what happened that day and everything the vets did to determine what was wrong. Be prepared to cry, it will explain everything. I never knew about the "Community" page until Yvonne's accident, someone told me to look there. I hope this will help you.

Thank you Yvonne for continuing to post videos so often. Your English is lovely, so use it to cut down on the amount of work (hours & hours), so you can have more fun more often. If what you are about to show is self explanatory-leave it, and we will figure it out. Risey looks like he is doing well-his coat is so shiny, and he’s fallen in love❤.Thank you for the video…I enjoy seeing your boys…they are growing-up so fast, and I love to see them with the horses and ponies.

I started watching your channel when one of my most favorite TV shows…Outlander, had its star riding on a Friesian horse in the episodes. I didn’t know anything about them but thought they were gorgeous! That was over 5 years ago! My gosh how time flys!! I think I have been through (watching) a lot of the ups and downs at Stal G, and then when you started showing Stal H. I was so excited when you got to purchase Uneik, I was terrified with your accident, heartbroken with the loss of Uneiks foal, and in awe when she accepted Rising Star right away. You have taken us through so many parts of your life it was like we were right there with you every step of the way. I’ve learned so much about the care of horses from you, thank you. I’m sure you’re not ready to see Uneiks last day, maybe we aren’t ready either. I don’t think I have grieved so much for an animal that wasn’t and never could be mine! But when you’re ready to show it, you will, and we will watch and cry all over again. She was and always will be a magnificent Friesian. And we have Risey and his romance with BiBi, and Bella!! The invention of the birth alarm is quite useful. The plastic bag was scary 😆. Risey is a very inquisitive boy. Always curious about who’s who and what’s going on. I am glad we have Uniek’s legacy in Risey and Belle at Stal H. I am also very thankful that we still get to see her in videos.

​@@katertom3584Last Thursday, April 4, Uniek experienced a medical emergency. She appeared in pain. Yvonne gave her pain medication. However, as the day went on, she was worse. Yvonne took her to the Vet. There was nothing more could be done to help. Yvonne decided to put her to sleep. 10 p.m. Thursday. Yvonne made the announcement on Friday, April 5 in a letter. We will always remember and appreciate Uniek.

What incredibly long days you have! Don't know how you're able to keep up with everything. You're amazing! How much fun watching Risey as he is absolutely besotted with Bibi. True love. I believe that no living creature ever leaves this Earth unless it is that creature's time to return to the ultimate home where no pain or suffering exists, only love and joy. Even with this knowledge, it doesn't keep those of us on this side from experiencing another form of love called grief. As you have already discovered, healing takes a long time, and complete healing rarely occurs. Otherwise, we might forget what we have felt and learned. I say this not only for your sake but for us all as we navigate through life. Comforting blessings to you, Yvonne.

Looks like being gelding has landed Risey his first girlfriend. How cool is that? ❤. But that said, many condolences for queen Uniek. It's hard to believe she's passed.

Dear Yvonne, by now you are busy with two or three new babies at Stal H, and I pray they help you, your family and friends with the healing process since Uniek's passing 🖤💙🖤💙. Risey and Bibi's playful flirting is very sweet 🧡❤️🧡❤️.

They're all beautiful, your Friesian horses have lovely temperaments, or is it the love and human touch you give then Yvonne? Your boys are growing up with a love of horses ( and tractors) by watching you! Risey in love is cute! It's always special to see Queen Uneik too. We will never forget her. x

Yvonne, I have come late to this video due to work. My heart is broken for the loss of your beautiful Queen Uniek. I'm so glad she at least got to see the birth of her filly. You have Belle and Risey to help bring you some comfort. Belle is stunning. I hope she develops into a magnificent mare like her mem, Queen Uniek.

@@franceshale584 Hi! Yes, Belle Alexia was born 26 March. If you go back about 12-14 days in the Community Posts, Yvonne made the announcement and posted some really nice "baby pictures."

Poor Risey. He has it bad for Bibi. It takes awhile for the hormones to go away, but I think he will be in love with her forever. Uniek is the most beautiful horse I have ever seen. Inside and out. I think a lot of that had to do with how you took care of her before and after she was yours. Belle has some big shoes to fill. Love and prayers from NC, USA

Uniek will always be there her present threw Bella be many more connection to queen Uniek very beautiful special horse also she was a fantastic mother to raise Rising star as her own ❤❤❤❤

Wow. I started watching the channel just before Uniek lost Star and adopted Risey. She was a lovely horse. I could always tell her from the others even without the gray forehead. Very very difficult news. Years ago I too lost a horse suddenly. To this day we’re not sure what happened. He was just yards from the house eating grass in his pasture, then bam, he somehow smacked into the house (going over the electric fence) and was dead.

Oh dear Yvonne, how very hard for you. I am sorry. But on this side, eager for every sight of Queen Uniek because I know it's not going to last, so thank you. Your birthing device is splendid, but does it trigger if she doesn't lie down and stay there for a few minutes? What if she decides to birth standing up? Can it sense contractions? Dear Risey. He will go in as many senseless circles as his Yvonne demands, SO LONG AS HE ENDS UP AT BIBI EVERY TIME. Love that Teije ends up with straw in his "forelock", just like all the foals! Wunder's face has grown so much, I suppose the rest of him as well. Clogs: Queen Uniek on Left and Rising Star on Right, that'd be wonderful!

I admire what you do Yvonne, while your sorrow must be limitless, you continue to give us beautiful videos where the Uniek appears in all its splendor and for that you deserve my greatest respect I appreciate all your horses but the queen and her little prince RS will forever remain my favorites, now that she has left for another place there remains the prince and seeing him so happy and a little in love puts a smile on my heart let's pray that it will be like this for a long time courage to you Yvonne the loss is immense all your other horses love you and it is in your nature to give them this love, you are made for that Uniek was unique but who knows one day maybe a new queen will appear, I understood that a princess was born then...

Yvonne si k ni vždycky chodila pro potěšení, uvolnění, relaxaci i si k ní chodila postěžovat a pro podporu. Velmi jí musí chybět. Já se docela bojím sledovat poslední den Uniek. I notice that Risey has a limp on the completely brown rear leg ,I’m not a very good horse person but I was wondering it you brace that leg near the hoof would that make him more stable and can move without fear of falling and maybe get the muscles in that leg stronger, just thinking love you guys

@YvonneD, hi, it is Frances Hale. How on earth does something like this happen? Was it because of her age? Maybe side effects from meds that she was taking for the osteoarthritis? Do they even have a clue? Have you experienced anything like this before? It is just so difficult to understand 😢

Thank you Yvonne for another great video. Rising Star is such a good boy and ever so gentle. I know he is gelded now so that will make him even gentler as time goes on. It’s lovely to see him “doing the nighttime rounds” with Yvonne before everyone goes to sleep for the night. He is looking wonderful , and I do hope he will continue to gain more strength as we go into Spring and summer. I got a pleasant surprise to hear that Reintje is also in foal. I have watched this channel since before Uniek lost Star but I am wondering how long Yvonne knew Uniek before that time. I would love to know some of that history. I do not know if Boss Reintje had her from a foal or not. I know I used to watch Boss Reintje working with Uniek and also Yvonne riding her. I remember well the day Yvonne bought her from Rein. Everyone was happy and so was Uniek. Have a beautiful day at Stall H and I do hope the sun is shining upon you all. 🙏🌠⭐️👑💖⭐️🍀

Uniek was born by Rein at Stal G. When Uniek was 3 she went to the training stable. Yvonne worked there at the time. After that, Yvonne went to Stable G and never left. She then started training with Uniek for the Sports Predicate. And with success. The incredibly beautiful bond between Yvonne and Uniek has a long and loving history❤❤👑

My goodness, Rein is getting TALL. My condolences on the loss of Uniek, she was a very beautiful horse with such a gentle soul, I pray her last foal is just like her in personality.

Shopping at a tack store, FUN day!!!! You should put Risey next to Bibi in the stall arrangement, make them both happy❤❤😂😂

After watching Daisy kicking the new partitions against Puck the other day, I somehow don't think the partition between Risey and Bibi would last beyond four hours, max!!! Maybe in 6 months time, when all the testosterone is gone from Risey, maybe they can even be in a stall together, but maybe then Bibi will be hunkering after some other interest anyway! And Risey will be like, "oh, he's my chaperone".

Yes TY Supers and Moderators you have helped field all of our daily questions so professionally and with big hearts. A big help to Yvonne and a comfort to us as we all work through our emotions with changes like the loss of precious Unique. It is encouraging to know you keep Yvonne updated 😢😊💞🌞

It will be hard to get used to you not being with Uniek or really seeing you ride her. But I really love all the horses and I now always look to make sure rising star is still there . your little boys are getting so big and handsome

Oh, Yvonne! I thought I stayed up to speed with your posts, but this shocked me! I am so, so sorry for your loss. You have my deepest sympathy. I haven't even finished this video, because I have been looking around to see where I might read about Uniek's passing. My heart hurts for you. I hope that the baby Coralle presented you with helps take some of the edge off the sadness.
