Birmingham, St Martin, West Midlands - Rounds on 14

Музыка

(Recorded 22/07/2012)
Rope-checking rounds before a peal on the back 14 at St Martin (in the Bull Ring), Birmingham. These rounds were the first time the majority of the band had rung on more than 12 bells. Everyone coped very well and settled further as we went through the peal.
Tom Waterson, on the tenor, decided to play up to the camera towards the end of the video, but Jon Potter was having none of this and rightly called stand shortly afterwards. Shocking behaviour.
Ryan Noble's laugh is kept in at the end for comic effect.

The two trebles of the 14 sound very similar to those of Winchester, but of course the vintage Taylor twelve of Winchester has no comparison to these more modern Whitechapel bells (although I do rather like them)

Nice bells, When you get up to these numbers like 14 or 16 it all sounds to busy and perhaps an exercise in nothing more than what is possible. To me the just right number is 10 10 always seems to sound so rounded and bright.
