So glad I found this channel. I watch Dr. Brian Sutterer who covers sports injuries and I've wanted someone to cover BJJ injuries like Mikey Musumeci destroying the sambo guys knee and/or Craig Jones breaking Vinny Magalhães foot. If you can cover those they would be amazing!

Thanks man! 🙏🏻 I actually reacted to the Musumeci vs Bayanduran knee injury in one of my much earlier videos. Give that a look!

Hey my brother! Sick video as usual I suck at triangle chokes, I've never been good at them. I think they're quite difficult to set up and execute. I prefer top game as well. Could you do a video on biomechanical breakdown of arm triangle/head and arm choke? It's my favourite submission 😎

I have short, muscular legs so they aren’t my go to either. Of course bro! I’ll add it right to the list! 🙏🏻

I am only 5'7' and never competed above the Lightweight division. Nevertheless, the triangle choke has been one of my go to submissions over the years. I think it has a lot to do with being one of the smaller guys in the gym and defending my closed guard as much as I have. Plus, flexibility has always been one of my strengths. What do you think, Patrick?

Hey, Greg! I definitely think that’s the case. Spending a lot of time in closed guard and being flexible afforded you many opportunities to employ the triangle, so you developed a good understanding of how and when to use that form of strangulation to your advantage!

I have no idea why, but triangle chokes don’t choke me…

@@JC-wp2oc I feel you! The only reason I am skeptical is because I trained with a guy once that was born without most of his arm. His humerus only extended about 8 inches past his shoulder joint. No elbow or wrist joint. As you can imagine, it was pretty much a super power of his to escape triangles… He got triangled that day and it wasn’t a crank. Not saying it can’t happen, but if a guy with 1/4 of an arm got triangled with that arm in I think most of us can!

@@JC-wp2oc nope. I am actually rather big for my age and i would say average for an adult male. I am 182 cm and weigh 77kg with visible abs, so i would say 18-20% bodyfat.

@@combatathletephysio one of my instructors was a national champion. He managed to tap me out, but not because i was choking, but simply due to the pure force on my neck, like a neck crank.

A diagram of the arm in and resulting pressure on the neck would help. Really like the head down tip, didn’t appreciate that

@@spartaleonidas641 I can see that. I’ll keep that in mind for future videos! I have a question though, you said “Didn’t appreciate that” after saying you liked the cervical flexion addition. What were you referring to that you didn’t appreciate?
