This was my nephews favourite dish because he found it hilarious that this guy could've just made an omelette but he was so full of bs that he ruined a lamb in front of professionals chefs.

I’m not sure if you know this or not, but an omelette is the hardest thing to make correctly to chef specifications. It’s so hard, in fact, that it’s a common practice in an interview for a potential chef to make an omelette on the spot, because it’s a true test of culinary skill!

Tyler is the ultimate example of knowing vs understanding. I "know" how to forge a sword and sharpen it to fine edge. But if you put me in front of a forge and hand me a hammer and billet of steel, I'm going to make you a crooked mess with a dozen cracks in it and an edge that would make a butter knife look like a razor. Just because I know the steps doesn't mean I have the understanding of how to bring that knowledge to bear.

Indeed. Tyler believed that because he knew the taste and complexities of Slowik’s work, he could hope to replicate it. But knowing how it’s made is not the same as being able to make it yourself, and especially not make your own dish. When given the opportunity to make absolutely anything, he chose not to go simple, but to try and fail to create something that could stand up to Slowik’s cooking. Slowik quickly and very harshly reminded him that he is nothing more than what a wine taster is to a winemaker. Someone to please, if that, as he’d gladly put anything Slowik put on a plate in his mouth. He’s like a child, eager to please and willing to take anything Slowik gives him. Worshipping him. That’s why Slowik told him to do what he did. Tyler would ruin his masterpiece, the dessert.

I realized chef Slowick did such a thing too Tyler as justice for Margot. He stated that this wasn't part of the original plan but since Tyler was so desperate he brought her, someone unsuspecting, to this dinner anyway and ruined Slowicks plans. Immediately after Tyler is shamed and walks off the chef tells Margot 'now you're free'. It also was an insult, in a way, to bring Margot because one of Hawthorns edicts is 'we don't accept substitutions' and Margot was a substitution for Tylers original date. He had it coming. He knowingly brought Margot into a death trap, and all so that he could eat and be pretentious at Slowik's restaurant. If you like that, then you might want to check out Little Shop of Horrors. It’s not only a great horror comedy, but it’s also a great musical.
I bear witness to a revolution in cuisine
Wow, this recipe looks amazing♥️
Tyler: Well, maybe Chef Babish will like my cooking. Andrew: So that was Tyler's Bullsh*t. I think we can do better. Tyler: 😢
I have in my time, only worked in fast food in terms of prep, but I did also work in a gourmet grocer for a summer. So a lot of the stuff about how the clients treat the one's serving them struck a chord.
Finally get to see this! As possible future recommendation, could you do a version of the triple-fried egg sandwich with chili sauce and chutney from Red Dearf? I don’t think you actually see it in the movie but would love to see what that looks like!

Oh please!
I honestly really enjoy the menu
I honestly really enjoyed The Menu. That whole scene was so satisfying. Tyler had that coming.😂
Thank you BCU-Team for bringing "The Menu" to my attention. i completely missed that movie and just watched it. Absolutely brilliant! Doesn't deserve the "Horror" tag in my opinion
Thank you Chef!
Yknow, with how much Andrew likes garlic, I'm surprised he hasn't done a garlic confit recipe
Ah yes, more of “the menu” please

The bread episode would certainly be easy and quick to make.
Please do the full menu... with zero casualties if possible.:)
I’m over here loving that Jackie was getting all the questions that I knew too 😅😅😅
Absolutely love when movies stay realistic on their topic
I have been waiting for this since the cheeseburger episode.
Babish, for this thanksgiving, you HAVE to recreate the foods from the thanksgiving episode of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air! The 4 different kinds of stuffing, and Uncle Phil’s Turkey with pillowy mounds of mashed potatoes, butter drenched dressing, and tiny onions in a sea of cream-sauce.
Wonderful way of cooking
beautiful video! I love seeing you make an edible version of Tyler's Bullsh*t; makes me wonder if this is what we could've gotten if he knew what he was doign right of the bat!
I do wonder what Slowik whispered into Tyler’s ear afterwards…

Probably something along the lines of Tyler being worthless, or at least Slowik disapproving of him.

Nicholas Hoult said that Ralph Feines would whisper something different for every take of the scene...
A dish certainly worth hanging for .😁👌
Really enjoy
Really enjoyed the menu
This literally made me laugh out loud!
My wife thought I was a psychopath laughing hysterically through this entire movie until she finally realized you were meant to be laughing

@@JonCodec ... What? Where punctuation? Where am I meant to pause in this statement? I can't tell what you're trying to say.
