Truly one of the great ones. He and Billy played two nights at Red Rocks, only knowing half the songs. They made that fact their inside joke and killed it all weekend. James was a special talent (RIP)

I can totally understand that…I wasn’t there at B.S and wish I was. Must’ve been so cool, Strings does have it. I’m going to NY Pier 17 in June so that should be cool. But yeah the last GD/JG SMR 95 brings me to tears 😭 every time. Billy Strings has it. My years were 81-95 w GD … these days I like going to PL&F more so than D&C … it’s that thing I can’t explain but if you were there you probably get it. I still go to D&C but it’s not the same. (Sorry but I just cannot look at JM..he bothers the shit out of me and D&C just seems too commercialized now and idk it doesn’t feel the same …but that’s just me)

Listening for three decades now and I’m still amazed. Add Garcia and well you got yourself something rare and special, eternal even. Love knowing that today someone will find his lyrics and stories with Jerry painting to his words and become inspired and hungry for more of what they just heard.

Absolutely incredible. I’m 24 and just recently got into the dead after seeing D&C this past September. I’m absolutely obsessed at this point, and so many roads has become one of my favorites. I really like John Mayer in D&C, but I can’t imagine he could rock this song as good as Billy Strings does right here. Jerry will and never could be replaced, but Strings and Mayer are doing a great job carrying on the tradition. I’d love to see Strings on stage with D&C sometime

The usher takes his glasses out, reads the ticket, and then puts glasses away. By close to start of the show, 3 people stream by for every one ticket checked. JRAD has a couple of great versions too. I think this song means so much to Dead fans because of the 7/9/95 version. I just get immersed into the lyrics and music of it and appreciate all iterations.

Lol I’m the guy walking down the stairs in the avs shirt when they zoom in on that girl dancing. I was watching this today and was like “WOAH ITS ME!”

I've been listening to Billy doing bluegrass for years. I first heard this I swear I thought it was Jerry. Most don't know Jerry started out playing blue grass here in NC too. Billy can play any syringed instrument, but his mastery of the electric guitar leaves me speecless

I've moved away from the US, but previously spent the last six years living in Denver. This video made me miss home so much. Red rocks, Colorado, Denver... I miss it all. The best place in America.
