he could make all kinds of music. very few, if any artist has had hits acapella style like the longest time. with a paino like paino man or synthpop style like we didn't start the fire. the man has had #1 hits in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. billy joel was the complete package.

Sheer pop genius. He went from singer/songwriter music to Tin Pan Alley/Broadway, classical, jazz, new wave rock to 50s doo wop. I don't care what the stinky critics say, Billy Joel is one of the masters of modern music.

Frank Zappa said that other than conducting an orchestra, singing barbershop was the most gratifying thing he had ever done. I can see the immediate pride four or five guys get from being so in sync. Just a btw, me reenacting the Uptown Girl video for my gramma is one of my most prized moments with her.

I was first introduced to Billy Joel when I picked up a vinyl recording entitled Glass Houses at the age of 10. It was my father's album at the time. I fell in love with his style and just now discovered his '84 concert tour on youtube. Billy Joel's work continues to amaze me 20 years after I first discovered his songs.

No, I do understand. I wasn't saying it was you that disliked it. I was just saying whoever disliked it probably disliked it because the song "For the Longest Time" didn't start until 2:53. They probably didn't take the time to listen that far into it, therefore never hearing the song and thinking the video was just a phony. When really, them themselves were just impatient. Wasn't trying to say it was you at all.
