I'm an old school Van Halen fan. Very few bands could pull this off, but Billy Idol and his band DID!!!!!!! A great tribute to a great band from a great band!!!!!!!!

For all you critics out there... I would love to see you all get on stage and do better than this! Billy is fast approaching his 60th year and I personally take my hat off to him for all his energy, charisma, and guts he has shown over the last 40 plus years. (not forgetting his addictions he managed to overcome) His longevity is a bonus to all his fans world wide, and his live performances are second to none.....

Wow! That was different. Never figured he would cover Van Halen.

From Punk to Main Stream, Billy and Steve can do it all. I've loved this guy since I first heard "Dancing with Myself". In 1984 I shaved my beard and had my cosmetologist wife bleach my hair to play him for a Halloween party, blew everyone away, what fun.

I've been checking a lot of new and old Billy Idol out lately. I've gained a lot of respect for him. And he's a good fuckin' singer to boot.

A most genuine rock star of the highest order. There shall never be another like him.

You gotta love his stamina and vitality. And is voice is phenomenal. I don't think many people realize what an awesome artist Billy is. Love him!

Billy loves performing it, there´s a lot of energy in the tune and he did an super job. Pretty cool version to be honest.

So fitting that Steve Stevens played it on the guitar that he did. Eddie would be proud

Agreed. Solo was terrible. You could even see in his face that he was pissed with himself.

That drummer is Mr. Brian Tichy and he definitely has spirit! Sure do miss him with Idol but Jeremy Colson has spirit too.

Just stumbled on to this. Unexpected and very cool cover. Apparently Steve Stevens was one of the first guitarists David Lee Roth called when Van Halen broke up. This gives a glimpse of how well he would have done had he been available.

I've been trying to get Billy into the rock hall. I think he belongs there with the others. they say they go by the era but they bouncing around. they should stop putting 90's bands in without getting the others in first. Billy has had a lot of great music and covers.

I voted for him too- but RRHOF has become a joke, bands & artist who are much more deserving have not been inducted while alot of shitty ones have been (some aren't even R&R! Billy has been been eligible for over 10yrs!! Wtf?

The guy is a true rock legend. Went to see him on the Charmed Life tour back in 1990 at Wembly Arena. Freakin' awesome. And I got one of the rubbers that come down with balloons :-) Unfortunately Steve was off doing his own thing then, which was a shame. His guitar playing is also legendary and it goes brilliantly with Billy's vocals.

Oh yes he is,been a fan since my teens and can't get enough!True Charmed life and Cyberpunk were very good albums and i still enjoy it but something was missing,just the Steve Stevens magic touch. And diamond Dave back with Van Halen,i don't need anything else :) Hello from France

Hey Nicolas, greetings from Blighty. Whiplash Smile is what hooked me in to the Billy Idol sound, in particular To Be a Lover. There was another track of his I had heard some years earlier but didn't find out what it was until I started listening to his stuff. Turns out it was Dancing With Myself. Charmed Life had a bluesy feel to it, which I kinda like and Cyberpunk was way ahead of its time, I think. Billy was using computers and experimenting with new sounds and stuff to keep his music fresh. But I agree, Steve Stevens adds a certain... je ne sais quois, to use an expression from your neck of the woods. I think if Billy didn't try to keep his sound fresh, he would just be another Status Quo, in both senses of the meaning (no offence Quo fans).
