Billy Gunn Is Still JACKED at 60! AEW, New Age Outlaws, DX Reunion, Retirement Dream Match

Ойын-сауық

Billy Gunn is a professional wrestler currently signed to AEW. He sits down with Chris Van Vliet at the West Coast Creative Studio in Hollywood to talk about his legendary wrestling career where he has wrestled in 5 separate decades, how he still looks this good at 60 years of age, why his AEW run has been the most fun of his entire career, working with his sons Austin and Colten Gunn, not being a part of the DX reunion on WWE Raw, winning King of the Ring and the promo where The Rock called him "Bob", coming up with the legendary entrance for The New Age Outlaws, wrestling Sabrina the Teenage Witch, wanting a retirement match against Will Ospreay and more!

I was fortunate enough to meet Billy many years ago. The guy was so nice to me, really friendly. He has a great sense of humor. Thank you, Billy, for a wonderful memory.

I met Billy at a house show in Cleveland back in 1998. I was interning for a video production company who recorded all events at what is now Rocket Mortgage Field House. At the time I was wearing a Chief Wahoo hat that was black with the logo in all white. Billy stopped me and said, "Cool hat, where did you get it?" He then talked to me for a good ten minutes or so. He was so genuine and such a nice dude. Later that night, he had a match. I cannot remember who his opponent was that night, but the threw him out of the ring where I happened to be kneeling. My job that particular evening was to help out our cameramen by giving and reducing their cables slack when needed. Anyway, Billy throws his opponent outside of the ring, comes over to me and yells, "Move your damn cables!" He followed that up with a wink and a wry smile. Billy made my night that night.

Whenever you interview Billy Gunn, I watch every second of it. There are always different questions and some ones that have already been asked in the past. Either way he gives the same answers to the questions you have already asked him, unlike certain other wrestlers who have a different answer every time they're asked the same old questions over and over. When I heard that Billy was turning 60 I didn't want to believe it, now turning 50 I could have bought that but I am still having a hard time with 60 😂

I was never a huge fan of his in WWE, but now he's one of my favorite. Maybe because he just looks like he's having fun.

Billy has always been my favorite in DX, I can only aspire to be as active and in shape as him when I’m 60.

Thankyou Chris, my motivation to get sober has never been more invigorated. Nicotine was 1st and 4 years later I am still nic free. Your interview with Monte has convinced me the need for beer/ bourbon etc... is ending now. My kid is wrestling locally and working out at Crunch in NKY, there is a stupid connection here. Much Thanks for this conversation, I am motivated to do better. GRACIas! Seriously, Thank you

Billy Gunn telling his stories (like coming up with his finish) sounds exactly like Matt Damon impersonating Jack Nicholson improvising on THE DEPARTED during interviews. 😂
