If we an individual in general don't have the cash flow, then we as a group of individuals can afford such a basic unit. If families can buy into vacation homes and packages (i.e., Bluegreen vacation packages - "time-sharing"), then why not build a bunker together that can support a certain number of individuals (like in a neighborhood or a family unit in general). Nothing is impossible!

Three points people forget: (1) Doors should be positioned horizontally, and not vertically. Vertical doors are more likely to be blown in; (2) You must have a ventilation system which can remove radioactive particles from the outside air and rump out moisture and carbon dioxide laden "used air." (3) You will need a radiation detector to assess when it is safe to venture outside. Normally this will be about 2 weeks after the blast, possibly for 15 min at first. You must take accurate radiation readings outside the shelter before you venture outside. If you attempt to leave the shelter following up to 2 days after the blast, you will suffer acute radiation sickness and die. What they all tend to forget is someone has to maintain it because they can't so no matter what they do they'll need staff to staff it so that is the population count tripled. We can only hope they take to them and the seawater rise is greater than the bunkers top.

Most of these bunkers are not built with complete survival in mind. Most are just for a couple of months /years before the need for outside supplies . Many factors can be said to have overlooked. One key is air . Without air systems . In cycle ones, one ain't going to last very long.

Air lasting "forever" , to include expected "damages" ain't readily off any shelf. Think of a spaceship to Mars. We may have the technology, but bunkers ain't putting it together in protective layers .

The joker is bunker material furnishing. You can't furnish with temperature degradable materials. To include toxicity. You also need to watch set up that can take damages in different levels , and manufacturing that requires no repairs and maintenance. Most bunkers just import above ground furnishings that are hazards.

@@stevensofroniou water is relative to storage and space. Ain't that big. Recycling ain't that hard. Just needed to be incorporated into architecture system at start. Air. Air cycle . In closed forever air systems are the key. Most bunkers won't pass this test. Filtering the air from the outside ain't full proof especially given all the time before disaster.

It only takes about 100 days to be able to go outside again. If they stay in the bunker for 10 months most of the people will have died on the surface, then they can get busy planting crops etc.

There are so many homeless people and billionaires are spending money on bunkers that nobody will use. Sounds like capitalism.

A 200 mil bunker needs lots of cement, steel, labour, tech etc. Somebody would earn a living when one of these super rich morons decide to build one. If it were socialism there would be no bunker, no jobs, no good for anyone. Worse you might work as bonded labour to build one for your leader. Now choose.

In the US people got support from the government if you are jobless and homeless. If they file for unemployment they will get they get food stamps and cash assistance from the government also there are government programs to find jobs sooner, they send you to trade schools for free and teach you a skill to find you a small job. But these lazy asses doesn’t want to work. They are in their comfort zone of sucking everything free from the government and begging people for money

Yes, they know things that we don't but it's not a secret that nuclear conflict is a very real possibility, especially in the current geopolitical climate.

Everyone needs more than their salary to be financial stable. The best thing to do with your money is to invest it rightly, because money left for saving always end up used with no returns.

I have always believed, the best way to survive a nuclear war is not to. If there was a full exchange between the US and USSR/Russia, and or China, the entire Earth would be rendered a radiation exclusion zone, just as the Bikini Atoll is today. Even if the war was limited to a small area, say an exchange between Pakistan and India huge regions would have to be abandoned. But Pakistan and India give me a great deal of hope. These two countries hate each other more than any other to countries hate their enemy. If these to can avoid going to war, then anyone else should have the ability to do it.

Companies already finished underground bunkers way back in 2010 for nuclear fallout in the near future. These systems are fully functional with its own water and waste recycling system and also a food grow chamber. They don't build bombs just for show eventually it will be used

If I were a billionaire I'd build more then a bunker I'd have a planned underground village with small huts for the worker underlings and security. I'd have hydroponic gardens, a pig farm, McDonalds, a race track and one church where everyone would worship me......and ice cream.

Used to work on rich homes every 10milplus home had bunkers. One I worked on had a tear gas system to go off during home invasions

They are just always afraid. When you have so much you get paranoid.
