It's weird because I would be exactly in this fan age but I dont like most of her music and her style isnt something i would associate with my generation (z). There maybe a few friends who seriously love her but saying she is the new nirvana or the artist of our zeitgeist...not sure.

I'm not really a fan of Billie either, but I do like so of her music. Soyan probably said that since Billie was pretty popular back in 2019 and a little last year, and since mostly her music appeals to Genz that makes a little sense why Soyan might think she is the 'new nirvana' of our generation. :)

Its mainly because she is serving the same angsty, emotional feelings that Nirvana served during their time as well. Its definetly defining the style and sound of a generation not just musically but also aesthetically and that is incredibly similar to what Nirvana did :)
