I was actually IN Be Bop for one afternoon !! Bill asked me to try for keyboard player. It was me, Bill, Simon Foxx and Mike Close on bass in the Wrenthorpe Village Hall. We played Sister Seagull, Maid in Heaven, No trains to Heaven and a blues jam ......................... i knew I wasn't what Bill was looking for... he had already seen Andy Clark who was in Sheffield Band Mother's Pride................ a truly great player :) But the experience was wonderful.

A man with such diverse musical talents and one of the finest guitarists of all time. Saw be bop deluxe twice in the 70's and will always remember their shows. Long live Bill !

"Axe Victim" is one of the 10 greatest albums of all time. Bill is right there with Jimi and Jimmy. There is simply nothing that can be physically played that Bill cannot play. If Bill can't do it, it can't be done.

A crazy idea might be that Bill made a deal with an incomprehensible source to know his art so intimately, and the price of that agreement was fame. A true original. No-one writes music like Bill Nelson.

Some musicians get better & better over time, hit a peak, coast along and either die way too early, or slide into mediocrity. Bill however, hasn't peaked yet.... he's still in that first phase. Fantastic!

The dislikes are not because of the music but because the original visual elements of the original live performance have sadly been completely trashed by this offering. I know because I have the official DVD of the whole show and it is a great performance by all the musicians.

What a class act Bill is, this man, the main man of BBDL was a help to me with his music in the '70's, if you have not heard of Be Bop Deluxe i advise you listen to their music,it is an education.even after alcohol,in fact on some occasions back then it possibly seemed better, but actualy come to think of it can Bill's music improved?

@Sujay I listened to it once again, mainly because I couldn't remember it. It's the whole package; a dull uninspired composition, mediocre guitar playing in terms of sound phrasing and harmony and an '80s presentation. It could've been something back then.
