I engineered this Album with Bill in Yorkshire and it was a massive privilege to learn my trade in the studio with such a genius. It was guitar heaven ;~} It still sounds as fresh today. I remember the studio was full of Marimbas, vintage synths, a casio VL-Tone! digital drum pads, and some classic outboard gear owned by Bill. After this Album we built the Echo Observatory at Bill's house.

Life is fantastic...48 yo, a life spent to love, know, discover music - from classical to experimental, from jazz to metal, from everything to everything - music in every hidden corner, and just TODAY I discovered B. Nelson. I love this music! Another gentle genius like Foxx or Sylvian, but here in Italy absolutely unknown... Life is fantastic! And this art is... For the next days, my heart and my ears are busy...

me too! Isn't it amazing that people complain about how terrible things are when, in fact, we live in the best times ever. I used to play bass and last night wanted to see some things about fretless bass playing-- there are hundreds of videos showing you how to play, what you can do with it by renowned artists! I would have thought I died and went to heaven as a teen if I had walked into now.

This was the first song I ever heard by this amazing artist. I got the cassette "On a Blue Wing" (I'm in the US so no Holy Ghost titles allowed...) and just loved everything on the album. That discovery led to to explore his Be Bop Deluxe records, his debut acoustic album, and a number of his Cocteau Records releases. I was so happy to finally get a CD copy of "Getting the Holy Ghost Across" when he had a limited re-release of this album. Bill is one of my all-time favorite guitarists/singers/songwriters/producers/etc.

Another similar story. I'd listened to a little bit of Bebop Deluxe but didn't know anything about the band. The record store I worked in got several boxes of On a Blue Wing upon it's release. So we opened a copy fore the 'Now Playing' bin and dropped it onto the turntable. We all bought copies for our personal collections at the end of the day. Insanely good Lp.

This is my favorite Nelson album. I've heard about 86% of these. I bought this vinyl in 86 and in the 90s as a cd, in the 2000s as mp3, and 4 years ago as the chock full of songs meta double album it had become. It's a sham we can't get the whole bundle.
