When Bill was starting out he toured local comedy shops and came into our town a couple of times. He was hilarious then and still is today. I remember at one of the those early shows we attended, and did his "Here's Your Sign" routine, he sold "I'm Stupid" signs to people after the show for $1 each. At the time I thought it was genius. He is doing his bit about being stupid and people actually paid a buck to buy a sign that said, "I'm Stupid." Those were exactly the people who should have been wearing that sign 😆

Up until now I've heard his "Here's your sign" jokes as "You're overlooking some obvious signs to this situation, mister, so here's your sign" as in "Let me point that out to you".. Talking about handing out actual stupid signs makes so much more sense, so I guess there's my sign..

I’ve been a fan of Bill Engvall for many years. I bought his standup comedy DVDs and those ‘Blue Collar Comedy Tour’ DVDs. When my husband and I went to Maryland for our youngest son’s wedding, we rented a nice cottage - - I had brought all those DVDs and they were a big hit with the relatives (who stayed with us at that cottage). It was very nice to see his first appearance, on the ‘Johnny Carson Show’ (I worked many PM and night shifts at our local hospital, and didn’t get to watch the ‘Johnny Carson Show’).

When he mentioned asking for directions made me think of when I was driving through Georgia years ago. I had got off the main road to just mingle around and got lost. I asked a guy out by a fence how to get back to the main road. It went something like this. "Well lady, ya take yourself on down yonder to the big red barn, well, it used to be red, looks kinda pink now. Turn left and keep yourself going till you come to Pete's pig farm, might not see 'em, but you'll smell 'em. Now, about three skips and you'll see 'old Bessies place, she has those pecan trees we go to every year. Turn left again at the Jenkins farm, his 'ole rusty tractor will be sitting out front, been there since Moby Dick was a minnow, and keep going....you'll see the main road."Told him thank you and went on. I thought oh goodness I will never find the main road......but by golly there it was.
