Except for the whole thing about the Patriots being horrible right before Belichick came aboard. No, they weren't. Not right before. Carroll fielded decent teams and was fired after an 8-8 season. Parcells was there before him and took them to the Super Bowl. Bledsoe was there throughout both tenures and provided quality QB play yet he struggled under Belichick. He will be fired (or forced resignation) if they have a significant losing season which they are in the midst of having. They are only one loss away from a losing season (2-8) and will be lucky to have 5 wins this season. Belichick didn't reinvent anything and wasn't ever a brilliant Head Coach. He's a mediocre Head Coach and Brilliant Defensive Coordinator who was made to look better due to the consistent play of Tom Brady regardless of who his targets were. Of course, when his targets were better his stats were at the top of the league. When they weren't, they still won consistently and his stats were great. Belichick is a sub .500 head coach without Brady.

@@KinnuSingh I remember how they scored the pick to get Bledsoe. After he was there they steadily improved until the Super Bowl and stayed competitive under Carroll. I will never miss one of these podcasts when Bill Burr is the guest. Always fun and entertaining. And I usually learn something. 😁 and I believe that Bill Burr said on his own podcast that this was his favorite show/podcast to do.

I would totally listen to the NFL football broadcast if CBS or FOX hired Bill to be a commentator in the broadcast booth. Bill knows sports extremely well, is very well informed, and of course, Bill is Bill, which would add so many laughs to the broadcast instead of boring, monotone NFL broadcasters who couldn't say something genuinely funny if their life depended on it. Not that NFL broadcasts need to be a laugh riot. But a few scattered chuckles here and there by someone who is a MASTER at it, IMO, would make listening that much more fun.

Cowboys went to playoffs 17 years in a row .Played in 8 Superbowls won 5. The last 3 went from legendary HOF Coach Tom Landry to Jimmy Johnson, who ended up winning 2 with Switzer winning one.Change is inevitable in football. It's big business, and Kraft is all business.

Hes 💯 correct. I'm not a Patriots fan, I'm a Bronco fan- but i remember those criticisms well. " Brady is only good because of the system, Belichek is only good because of Brady. After 25 years of dominance, they are due for a hard stretch to rebuild

Bill hasn't done squat without Brady. He has the worst record in the AFC. He has a career losing record without Brady, who won a Super Bowl, in his 40s, with another team.
