Bill Burr seems like the kind of guy who thinks he sucks, and wont realize until he's like 80 that he is more legendary than almost everyone he looks up to.

looks up to? no. he's a funny guy but no.

What strikes me is how consciously and intentionally Bill gives his reviews. He makes sure to find a nice thing to say about each one, and be supportive. He knows some of the impressions are young people on the way up. He could choose to not let them use impressions of him to make their way - be super critical, or make fun of them. Instead he chooses generosity. He knows he's made it to a high level, but doesn't pull the ladder up behind him. He's similarly generous on podcasts as a guest to younger comics. It's nice to see a top guy who is also looking out for the whole profession.

I have overheard conversations where I can hear a guy lapse into Bill Burr. Not even close enough to hear the words, it's the cadence and convulsions. Legend.

Bill Burr seems like he doesn't think he deserve the love and respect that he gets. And its exactly why he deserves it.

Bill is a legend and will never admit it.

I've been listening to Bill when he was just Billy and he was just so much younger. He is so much more calm and people think he is angry. He has come such a long way, stable mind, and has supported comedians. Great guy.

I love how supportive of their peers comedians are. There’s a real “we’re all in this together attitude” in the alt scene that I’ve always loved.
