The owner didn't seem too excited that their dog was just found. I would be hysterical if i lost my dog and someone found him. Kinda makes me wonder if they abandoned him on purpose.

I think so too..Once my doggo ran out of the kitchen garden for fun.. and after a while when I realised she wasn't coming back... I looked and found that she probably jumped over the fence.. I ran outside and looked for her everywhere.. when I finally found her... you know where? Under our car 🤦‍♀️😅

had the same thought. it all looked like they didnt really care, not just because of the behaviour at the end but also because they didnt even pick him up out there with them. also i would call my dog "bad dog" like she at the end, in that moment usualy u should be happy only and therefor dont think about words like "bad", natural.

@RaheemTehDream I don't know if you're blind or if you're joking but that dog was happy to see his owner. It was whining/crying as well because it obviously missed them. That's not an abused dog. People call their children "bad girl" or "bad boy" all the time when they do something "naughty". The dog probably got scared of a noise and ran off or maybe it chased something and got lost.

Mmmmmm could someone left her there and was surprised someone found…!!!,!, that’s what I think happens I mean come on now how did she get on the island in the first place you must have taken the angel there and left her. They promised him that they'd be coming back for him and when they did they had a big surprise for him, in that his human mother was inbound to collect him! His uncontained delight upon recognising that she was there to get him was really touching, and it was lovely to se him reunited with his family. Very Well Done to those great people for reuniting the lost and lonely pup with his family.

She means to get the dog micro chipped, under his skin. But that is semi-stupid since it would have meant that these people first had to take the dog to a vet with a scanner - now they could just call the owner immediately. Nevertheless, you should do both, just in case a dog runs off and somehow loses his collar (or gets stolen, if it's a rare breed).

To all the people coming down on the owner, THIS DOG IS A TERRIER!!! A hunting breed that once it gets the scent and starts tracking something it can totally lose its sense of where it is. I imagine this wasn’t the first time this little bugger had gotten away from her so her excitement could certainly be mixed with annoyance and that would be perfectly appropriate and natural. Not all dogs are perfect pets and not all owners are perfect owners and that’s totally okay! Certain breeds really like to hunt and even individual dogs have a variance in their drive to hunt. This is why you see lots or missing signs for certain breeds like huskies, beagles, etc more often then other breeds

I can preach on behalf of huskies, my Husky/Lab/Collie mix rescue is an idiot. He always jumps our fence and runs away, however, he may be an idiot but he’s actually insanely smart cause he always finds his way back home. He also loves chasing things in our backyard and sometimes even catches small animals which freaks out my mom haha.

I love how she laughed as she said, “you are a bad dog” as if... you know, she was happy and relieved to see him. She wasn’t screaming at him - she likely said it for herself and as a small joke. Not everyone is melodramatic, especially when they are meeting strangers. I think it is rather tone deaf and inappropriate to make such heinous accusations about animal abuse, especially when they is no indication of that. And, as you said, certain breeds are known for having wanderlust or tracking - such as terriers, or huskies as mentioned in the thread. Also, our family this year had our dog stolen by a neighbour that we were anonymously informed of having done that. The person who had stolen our dog had intentions of using him as a bait dog for fighting - as the police were involved, and while he willing gave him back when the threat of police charging him - he is still on a watchlist according to the police. Many neighbours in the community suspect that this may have happened to their dogs. It wasn’t until we got him back did we know the extent of the abuse he endured during the week he was missing - such as whimpering when someone stepped over him, which before was a daily and innocent occurrence. It has taken some time to work out those things but thankfully he has fully recovered! This is to say there is a very real difference between someone having bad intentions when regards to pets - so, I am kind of perplexed why these other commenters are making such weird assumptions. Perhaps they are looking to be provocative? Anyways. Additionally, I am very glad that Max was found by upstanding people. Sorry for the weird tangent.

I once had my dog freak out while I was walking, it happened so quick I didn't have chance to even hold the lead and he was gone around the corner. I spent an hour and a half searching, my mum called my sister who came to the house at 3am to search. I walked EVERYWHERE and I had a mental picture of where he COULD of got to in the time he was missing and by this point he could of been well into my local town. I was walking back home in tears calling his name and whistling to the point I had nothing left in me. Every 4 or 5 breath's shouting his name but then I spotted a lead not far from where I lost him....He looked proud as anything when I walked up and saw him at the end, sat patiently waiting for me in darkness.

People can be so dumb. We have nothing to go on in terms of reaching any conclusions about her, other than the fact that the dog was happy to see her. One of my dogs is a dog I found in the streets. I found his owner after several days, but ended up taking him home with me anyway because they clearly didn't want him. I've seen what that looks like and it doesn't look anything like the video. The dog was beyond happy to see her. Unwanted and mistreated dogs don't behave like that. And if the dog was abandoned, it wouldn't have had a collar on.

@@craiggagnon8407 True, but it didn't seem to be a once-off event, the owner clearly likes the dog, Max clearly loves her, but if he can escape and get this lost (and would have died if these bikers hadn't of found him), then you must adapt your property/behaviour to exclude the chance of him running off. Some owners, while loving, can be too caviller about dogs running off. One of my friends dogs was taken by her dad into northern Western Australia, just a little Aussie terrier, but the dad was careless and the dog ran off. The only comfort I can gain is knowing the dogs body allowed some other life to carry on in the searing 40C heat. Poor thing would have died a miserable death. RIP Rusty.

Chill out. The owner that called them back was a *male*. It may have been the woman who helped to fetch the dog back but probably isn't as attached?? I believe that dog was never lost in the first place , he's the type of dog he likes to wonder around in the desert , like that was his back yard , when the bikers came he kind of got scared , he ran and ran again because the loud bikes were basically chasing him. At one point he got super tired and he kind of gave up running . When the bikers turned off their bikes he allowed them to touch him , he is a very friendly dog . When the owner picked him up she did not act surprised because probably it was not the first time when the dog was returned to her by random people.

I was a little concerned too, but yeah the fact that the dog still had the collar is a good sign for me too. Plus, the woman was giggling and smiling when she said it, it seemed like less of a scolding and more like "you had us worried about you."

An owner that leaves a collar on their dog with their name and number cares a lot about their dog. & They wouldn't abandon their dog with a collar on. I would be wayyy more happy to see my lost dog though!

My question is, how did he get out there in the first place and why wasn't his family looking for him. That chick didn't seem all that thrilled to have him back-I would have been sobbing and incoherent with gratitude. Poor Max, I hope they really wanted you back.

Guys I've done the same. We found dogs that had wandered from home. It was like ohh you are so cute. Let's keep u. But common sense knowing that their families were looking for them was at the forefront.. Returning the dog back to it's family was reward enough to see the eyes of the dog light up and that happy puppy tail wag.

Dude, this makes me remember when I lost my dog! He was lost for about 2 months, I never stopped looking for him and thanks to a family who saw him close to a grotto 4 miles away from my home I could rescue him! The wors 2 month of my life but, with a happy ending and the old bastard is still kicking! Great job from this two friends!

Happens all the time. I used to rescue dogs. They bring them out in the country and dump them. A dog cannot survive, like a cat can, let alone flea and ticks etc. God always finds someone to rescue an animal. He loves them too! After all, he created them. Bless you, guys.
