One of the things that instantly came to mind. Although the what if with the Smoltz trade, on both the Tigers and Smoltz, and what if rotator cuff surgery was available during Mark Fidrych's time are 1b and 1c.

Imagine Fidrych, Morris, Petry, etc, might have won in 81, 83 as they were close both those years. Bird was 29 in 1984. Might have won multiple World Series championships in the 80s

The Rasheed one was my What If for Detroit sports, my biggest What If for sports in general will always be "what if OKC did what they needed to do to sign Harden to a max contract to keep him, Durant and Westbrook together?"

Drafting Wade or Melo over darko!!! Tigers having a good bullpen during their contending window are the two biggest what ifs in the last 20 years of Detroit sports!!!

One for each of Detroit's pro teams: What if the Packers drafted Barry instead of Tony Mandarich? What if Torri Hunter had caught the Grand Slam ball off Big Papi in the playoffs? What if Stevie Y wasn't drafted by the Red Wings? What if they Pistons didn't draft Darko?

It really isnt darko vs wade or melo. It was really darko vs bosh. Detroit didnt need a guard or small forward.

Yes but great talent is extremely expensive and Scott Harris doesn’t want to bankrupt poor lil Chris Illitch. He’s saving his money for the construction of more downtown parking lots

Ive always felt if the pistons had drafted one fuy who could have played a little in game 7 vrs San Antonio the team would of been a little better rested and could have pulled it out. Ro me thats a big What if.

What if Leyland walked Ortiz in the ALCS. Could have held on and won the game and maybe win the series at home in a sweep, maybe even won the world series that year, the dombrowski era may not have ever ended, no Al Avila, Verlander and scherzer wouldn't have been moved on from potentially so no nationals or Astros championships

DRW NOT trading 19 for Lindros, which, to me, is the biggest one in DET sports. 4th Down vs OSU 0:01 vs MSU Why the tigers had no money for Sherzer and Verlander? Kris Draper for $1 Fedorov defection... then Fedorov contract Zadina over Hughes (which, yes, means likely we don't draft Seider) Every year Barry was the running back... every damn, year. Zeke pass was horrific, but that was a player in a moment vs GM's messing about.

What if the ref hadn't screwed up the spot in 2016 in Columbus Ohio against Michigan and the Wolverines would have gone to the national championship instead of the Buckeyes.

Eh. Most likely would've been smoked by Clemson or Bama. Those two were far better than anyone else that year. OSU lost to Clemson 31-0 in the semifinal. Mich would probably have fared no better.

@@Luke7304 Probably, but it would have gotten Harbaugh a victory over OSU and a trip of the CFP. It would have changed the trajectory of the program and he may have left earlier.
