Unfortunately the Heat are $5mm away from the 2nd apron cap, so you can’t trade for Lauri unless you trade someone that makes exactly what he makes ($18,044,544). That also means You also don’t have the ability to add a bunch of contracts together to match his salary and because you’re at the apron, you also can’t trade draft picks to get him (I’m not sure you guys have much to trade as it is). I also think you guys only have two trade exceptions you can use and one of them is expiring in two days. So unless Derozen wants to come for a taxpayer MLE, it’d be hard to sign him too. Unfortunately, your guys’ cap sheet makes it somewhat unrealistic for you guys to sign or trade for either of those guys

They offered him an above market value contract obviously. So we can't be mad with the circumstances. That gives Jaime more of an opportunity to thrive. Miami biggest problem have been health. If this team can stay healthy, they are always a problem. Move Herro back with the 2nd Unit, start Duncan, and Niko....You have a starting 5 of Terry, Duncan, Jimmy, Niko, and Bam. 2nd Unit of Herro, Love, Jaime, Richardson, Burke, Ware, Bryant, and whoever else they choose to play. Herro and Terry don't mix well together with their style of play....

Caleb Martin IS NOT supposed to be important as a swingman when you got a 24 mill pg and 30 mill sg. That means your getting something out of caleb that your two guards ARE NOT GIVING YOU. Your two best players at 50 MIL AND 35 MILL are undersized non 3pt shooters who rely on finding offense elsewhere. For the money your core makes, they are objectively not good enough

From a reputable source, the Heat wanted Caleb and Co. to opt in and got a 5-year contract that would've worth north of 60 M., but Caleb and his agent thought that they would've gotten more elsewhere. The moment Caleb opted out of his contract; the Heat couldn't offer him that kind of money anymore. So, the market went dry for him. As a result, his agent had to settle for less. BRILLIANT!!!

This story doesn’t make a ton of sense. What did he think he would command on the market? Over 20 million? Is the heat office just putting it out there? Something in max strua ballpark? If it happened he needs to fire his agent. In todays cba it’s risky to wait out a deal when you are getting a good one to begin with.
