Still he dropped Inoue and almost beat him in that first round. Idc about his wins and his KOs because the lower divisions don’t have any real tough competition. So these guys’ resume will look impressive. Fulton’s record was impressive too, but he has pillow fists! These guys aren’t tough competition nor were their competitors! Guys..Inoue has dominant stuff....his skills are just something you see in those old time fights....you just don't see stuff like that....really ..How can he not be pound for pound....

Jaime Munguia had the size advantage, the volume punching, and the youth and still couldn’t give Canelo trouble because Canelo hit harder and had the higher boxing IQ. He outboxed him. David is basically a pressure fighter like Munguia but a lot simpler and a lot slower. Coming forward and trying to throw volume at Canelo just plays into his hands as a counter puncher. How does Benavidez stand a better chance against Canelo than Munguia did from a technical standpoint? Would rather see Benavidez or Berlanga vs Munguia next as a comparison than either of those guys vs Canelo in September.

@MrArichG Difference is Benavidez has never been in there with a heavy handed real world class puncher. Both Demetrius and Caleb are not know for power, which are his best wins. What David has going for him is raw volume, and that's what was supposed to give Munguia the advantage. With the way David squares himself up to his opponents he is playing a dangerous game. He'll get countered just as much, and there's just no way he can put a dent in Canelos chin.

Benavidez is a weight bully and Canelo is right to be cautious with him. Benavidez can get the fight but with a rehydration clause to stop this. Same with Tank vs Inoue, its a dumb fight...but people still asking for it (haters of Inoue). Nah crawford for me number 1 and inoue number 2 and i have usky number 3 especially after he beats fury!!!! I have canelo a respectful number 4 but i cant go highee for canleo unfortunately some of those wins were too controversial

Inoue is stillll underrated, but it’s due to fighting mostly over there now and at 7AM on a Monday in NA haha I can’t even get his fights in Canada usually or it takes a lot of shit to get it….hard to get fans in a sport that is hard to gain new fans if they never see you.

It seems that way but I think it's really an offensive habit that don't allow him to have the best defense. He fights with too much weight on his front foot which causes him to lean forward too much. It also slows down his reaction time.

If David Benavides, beats munguia anyone who he calls outs should fight him.

I think a lot of people are putting up Benavides way high. He will not just role Canell like many are saying. It's a real fight.

I know a lot of ppl want to see the Benavidez fight, including myself; I think this is more of the Mayweather effect. Back when Mayweather was the face of boxing, everyone wanted to see him lose. So many ppl showed up to every fight and called out for guys they thought could put Floyd away. Even Pacquiao couldn't do it. Just like then, I think ppl, including analysts like Paulie, want to see it happen that they pit so much stock in guys that, when you peel the layers back, likely won't be able too. Benavidez looks looks good, but the only elite guys he's fought have been either former Champs that Canelo ran through, or aged out guys who are journey men. I don't think David can hurt Canelo, but what happens if David gets caught by Canelo, who is more experienced and smarter?

Regarding Canelo. What Paulie doesn't recognize is that boxing is a risk and reward sport in general. That once you've reached a high level of acclaim and status. The rewards, if you're smart, disproportionately outweigh any unnecessary risk, one needs to take. And that the foolish risk that Canelo once took when young and a little green, to fight Mayweather, are no longer necessary. Nearly every time in his illustrious career, Canelo has been the undersized boxer. It's not that he fears fighting Benevidez, but rather, he recognizes at 5'71/2"'s, and a body type (usually heavier) than Bivol. His age, reflexes, and ability to hit Benevidez hard enough, for him to do what he does, may be more arduous. So unless, super cashola is not on the line. There's no need to take such a risk.

Can someone Please give Paulie a clue. How the hell can you strip someone of a title for not fighting a guy. It’s the sanctioning body that’s responsible for calling a mandatory, then you have to make the fight, or lose the title. This isn’t difficult to understand. He’s way beyond annoying at this point.

I like the opinion of Cris earlier said canelo has a good chanza of beating Benavides but he didn’t not argue with paulie about it 🤷🏻‍♂️
