Big Urban Coyote Walks By Dog Walkers

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

This big coyote casually walked by two dog walkers in the city of Vancouver B.C. Canada. If you see a coyote make sure you leash your dog immediately. If a coyote tries to approach you, try hazing it by yelling or use a object that makes loud noises. This coyote walked towards me which shows that it may be being fed regularly. Please do not feed wildlife as that will only cause them to loose fear of people and will more than likely have to be put down. Video taken by Bruce Causier ( Urban Wildlife Guy )

    I don't think thats a normal coyote. The large size and and heavy fur make it look like one of those Coywolf hybrid animals.

    Yes, that's a coywolf. These animals are generally harmless to humans, and should be allowed to live in peace.

    If this was in eastern Canada I would say it resembles a coywolf or what is now called an Eastern Coyote. I think there might just be some domestic Canis familiaris genes in this one. That could account for the size and the coat colour. The coat colour is darker than normal for a western coyote.

    Don't know if this eastern coyote is just a good hunter or is actually Coywolf. Looks maybe more like coywolf to me. Looks also not be fearful at all of people.

    I've lived around coyotes my whole life and they have been so close to me I could've reached out and touch them , they've never offered to be aggressive, just curious, 94% of a coyotes diet is rodents.

    Wowzer that's scary and sad. I feel sad for the coyote coming into towns where they could get hit by cars. And it's scary to have a big wild animal walk that close to people walking a little dog. Thankfully the coyote wasn't hungry enough to try taking that little dog.

    Looks like he's feasted good on pets!! Wish this coyote would run into my dog! My dog would have him for lunch!! I have lots of coyotes in my area but they won't come in my yard!! My 105lb pitbull would eat him for a snack!! And his sneaky friends that hide waiting for the ambush!! That's what they do is get a dog to chase them then 2or3 will jump out of bushes and attack their definitely smart pack hunters!!

    I don't think there's much we could do to help the adults, but what about juvenile coyotes? Couldn't they be adopted by humans and domesticated just like we domesticated dogs? Wouldn't that help us and the coyotes at the same time?

  • @brandon9172

    @brandon9172

    2 жыл бұрын

    You could tame them but domestication would take a long time, and couldn't be done the same way we domesticated dogs. They are not pack animals and usually live solitarily or in small family units.

    @@brandon9172 Yeah, I hear some pretty bad things can happen when people try to adopt cougars, bobcats, coyotes, wolves and even wolf-dog hybrids. But thousands of years back I'm sure someone tried it because otherwise nowadays we wouldn't have pets living with us in our homes. Of course, people back then were probably a lot tougher than they are now. Just a guess. Maybe I'm wrong.
