Kane was at a recent indie show for Gem City Wrestling in Jelicho TN , I got to shake his hand and talk to him for over an hour cause I am training to be a wrestler. Kane gave me some of the best advice. He told me “It ain’t no walk in the park, but if you’re confident enough and you show a willingness to give it your best then you’ll do fine. Just don’t make any excuses. Cause once you make excuses, you mind as well give up.” He essentially told me to take it seriously and don’t treat it as a joke.

That is how “Hero” figures are portrayed in movies and entertainment business. People like to relate with characters who are not supposed to win but eventually win somehow with sheer mental strength. That’s the role of Cena in the WWE, and that is exactly why sometimes he even went overboard with that acting and behaved as if he was struggling to lift CM Punk.

I don't follow wwe anymore as its just not the same as the attitude era and 2001/02/03. But I absolutely love now rewatching the old times, KZread or on wwe network. I literally never get bored of it. The best money ever spent on subscription for the month just to watch the old and better stuff. Kane is actually another main reason I watch the old stuff now, I watch an event.. Fast forward just to see kanes match, then go to the week after and watch his next. He is absolutely amazing.

The wwe wants to get a LITTLE bit back to more reality. Kayfabe is becoming unsustainable with all the various social media platforms, TMZs, and cross sport "performers". These guys can play "themselves" believably for so long. Especially trying to make a heel out of someone already popular in another sport where he's known as a good person. For example, Mark Henry. Star in the powerlifting community first. Brock Lesnar. Star in Greco Roman wrestling, NFL, and UFC. Numerous true catch wrestlers who went the sports entertainment route.

Guys retire because the WWE is such a grind year in and year out. Always on the road traveling to an event or promoting it. The guys that stay in the business this long do it because they love it. But eventually everyone gets tired and just wants to retire. I think most of the great ones like these guys them do retire on their own terms. Then you have guys like Hogan and Flair who never knew when to quit. It was actually embarassing watching them later in their careers. Kevin Nash is another guy trying to hang on that just doesn't have it anymore.

It's funny, when I typed in Goldberg Jackhammer this video came up with no reference to him. It almost seems like they just forgot (that's decades ago to be fair). You also wonder if its a naming thing cause he wasn't Big Show then and the WWE tends to shy away from other character names for brand reasons. But yeah it at worst should've been honorable mention. I don't think he got giant swinged by Cesaro, but for the sake of "pound for pound" discussion with Cena, that should be an honorable mention by commenters.
