🤔 I don't live anywhere near an ocean either, or at least I don't think so....... BTW: what's an "ocean"? 😁 Seriously though, for some strange reason, I started getting these "Haulover inlet" videos in my feed just days before I left for a 2 week vacation in southeast Florida. We were in the Martin county/Palm Beach county area, and although I never came to Haulover, we did spend some time at the Jupiter inlet, which is very similar.

Couple of thoughts for you: If you are using an external microphone, get a mic sock for it. If you are using the internal microphone (of the camera), then take a cotton ball and tape it over the inlet for that microphone. You can experiment with how tight to leave the cotton ball so as to cut down - but still leave some wind noise. Regular old Scotch / Majik tape works good and doesn't leave a residue on the camera. It works good on a UAV too.
@BoatZone

I was trying a new camera and without external mic. Thanks for the feedback.
I watch your Haulover videos the time. I summer at Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada, which is known for its rough water. Georgian Bay puts Haulover to shame! The Bay is full of hidden shoals and makes Haulover look smooth as glass. However, I have recommended your videos to several people and they love them, as well! Thanks for the great videos.

It would be nice if there was more commentary about who made it through doing it correctly and who didn't. You can definitely tell who controls their boat better through the rough waves and who has no clue and just floors it.

Buyer: she's got quite a few stress cracks. Broker: Oh that's normal, it usually happens when the manufacturer removes it from the mold.
@tomseadon9965
3 жыл бұрын
Technically, you’re supposed to ( not that anyone does), wait 72 hours BEFORE popping anything out of a mold! But, in order to do this, and still maintain a rapid production line you’d need several sister molds, and nobody that I know implements the correct system. To expensive they say. They’re right, it’s expensive but you get a much better part as far as quality! And, the longer it settles in the mold, the easier it will pop out! Polyester resin shrinks roughly 3%.

Boats arent made in molds
@tomseadon9965
3 жыл бұрын
@@yaishmatheen4274 well that depends on who’s makin her! I’ve seen and worked with boat molds up to 31’ long. They’re used to lay up fiberglass boats. Bigger sport fisherman like Ribovich used the cold mold technique, where you basically build a boat outta wood, then build up layers of fiberglass with epoxy.

@angrydragonslayer
3 жыл бұрын
@@tomseadon9965 we used to make a decent variety of stuff for this niche company that would mold each hull 5-10 times with a really slow resin (each time they added resin, they would also change the inner mold piece to one with a bit more space for resin) It took them about a month per hull but the quality spoke for itself and they had metal fittings fit into the hull itself rather than bolted on.
