I have Sunrise Halfmoon,Black Lame and Ulysses strains. They live on my balcony here in Singapore. Very hot here but they breed so well.

I thought Ricefish were supposed to be longer lived. I've not had luck with mine from other sources. They've lived less than a year out in my tub pond. But I probably got older fish. No fry from them either. Makes me consider not doing more in the future. If I do I'll definitely be considering yours.

I wonder if freshwater mussels or clams eat the fry? Looks like snails eat the eggs.

I sent a request to the Facebook group. I hope they continue to be bred to be hardy outdoors year-round, the winter naturally culls off the weaker fish. I hope there is some outcrossing with these new strains, it is like producing a new morph for a reptile, you obviously want to make more but you don't want to be producing weaker animals, so you outcross that new morph line with new blood every so often to maintain that vigor and hardiness.

About 1 year lifespan? Woah I had no idea!
