Great job Adrian, vert clean and thought out loft
great job. yes keeping the pigeons from making contact with their dropping really improves their health. I went from wood floo to expended wire mesh. very costly but the health of my pigeons improved so much. Again great jod on your renovation.
I need this in my life. Those floors make your loft look 100x more professional and clean.

Your birds look great. I like the raised flooring too. I’m in the making of a new coop right now and now that you mentioned it I might need to raise the roof a bit more for make me fit. Always enjoy your content Adrian keep it up.

Don’t think twice, raise the floors. A good friend started having breathing issues and was told to get rid of the birds. Raised his floors and no more problems. He kept a clean loft but all the dust that kicks up when the birds fly around stared affecting his lungs. The raised floors provide a dead air space and keeps the dust waaaaay down.

Looks great 👍 can't wait to do mine
I plan on using the plastic grates like small loft. (if they ever come back in stock) I will have to be quick because once everyone sees your video, everyone will want the raised floor and they will sell out again. Looks great.

Good man. I split the pair so we’ll see how they breed this year. If its the cock or the hen that’s breeding better
Use self tapping screws
Hi Adrian , Do you have vents under the dropping area? i saw in the video that youve installed vents around. is it above the level of the grate floor? . Thanks again
@AdrianP_loft

No not under, the floor was done after the loft was built. So the vents are alittle lower but mostly blocked off by the base of the floor
Are you worried about getting slivers in the birds feet or any thing like that?
@AdrianP_loft
4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely not lol. The furring strips I used were rounded and pretty smooth. My buddy used expanded metal for his floors and the birds feet are always so cold. It’s shocking, middle of the summer and there feet are cold. Wood or plastic is the way to go.
Hi Adrian, i have also raised floor on my flyers loft, however im having issue with mould building up on the dropping under. what can resolved it. thanks

I use a natural clay based floor dry from tractor supply. I clean everything and put a lite layer of floor dry down. That helps dry the droppings. Under the perches where the dropping are the most I remove that often but it’s should still be together dry. Make sure the birds are healthy and the droppings are solid. You may have an issues with the health and not the floors. And remember as long as it’s dry it’s ok for the birds.

How much you spend?

I would say about 120-130 for both lofts, but with the price of wood today it’s might be tripple that now.
Does this mean no cleaning?
@AdrianP_loft

I clean it twice a year. It’s the best upgrade I have ever done both for me and the birds. They are always clean, and no more crap under my shoes lol
so your poop will fall in between or to the ground?
@GrowWitLow

Raise floor with the bottom open so the poop falls to the ground outside

The loft is not open to the outside. Under the grates is the loft floor.
