One of the best episodes ever of Big Fat Quiz. Love Mel. (& side note: if there was any doubt that Bear Grylls shouldn't be taken seriously, this is it. Urine actually aggravates jellyfish stings & any "survivalist" should know that. The myth it actually helps is just an old wives' tale.)

The same thing is true about a lot of advice that he’s given over the years. Such as drinking your own urine. The salts in your urine will dehydrate you even faster even in an emergency situation. That’s just one example, but honestly, there were so many bits of dangerous and potentially lethal supposed survival tips and advice that it’s ridiculous.

Jesus, could Bear Grylls have made that jellyfish scene any more fake? You can clearly see him dropping it on purpose, and remembering to have a "painful" reaction. The shit people will do to try and get the public to tune in is seriously cringeworthy sometimes. I guess the producers figured that the only reason anyone would watch an episode with Mel B in it was if she took some of her clothes off, and pissed all over someone. That's better than listening to her trying to disquise her own obvious smugness for 45 minutes.

Great contestants! This was one of the funniest!! Side note: I find it interesting that Richard does his best when Noel is not his partner HOWEVER he is funniest when paired with Noel.

I wonder if this was filmed before or after Rob and Richard were together in Sevilla for Travel Man.

  • @Agropio

It was definitely filmed after that, because this aired in December and the Travel Man episode was in March. (And for more concrete giveaways, the Brexit referendum and the whole Jeremy Corbyn "Traingate" deal are both mentioned here and they hadn't yet happened when the Travel Man episode aired).
