@@LauSkypainter that's a score lol I find Goodwill's often had old toys too (they are donation centers where you buy stuff at a low price) one of my best finds was in a very unexpected place: a dollar tree. They had Rambo toys from 1986 still sealed and the year was 2013 yet there they where lol

For me it seems there are "doll collectors" and there are "vintage toy collectors". 😉 And most vintage toy collectors like and collect at least a couple of G1 ponies. But most people who have a very big pony collection are exclusively collecting ponies. I'm somewhere in the middle but I definitely don't consider myself a doll collector. I'm very grateful that you still enjoy my videos even though not liking My Little Pony 😉💗💗💗

Thank you for all of the effort that you put into this video. It was really enjoyable to watch! I was born in 1980 and my first ponies are year two I guess. They are the originals, but not flat footed. My favorite pony was bubbles! I remember when my mom brought her home for me when I was sick. I love blue and I thought she was so cute! I also loved the sea ponies and played with them in the bath all the time! Recently, I found one of the shells at the thrift store marked down to $.45 and then half off of that! Of course I got it! Wish there had been a pony there with it!

By the 2nd half of the video I didn't have any clips left 🙈 but I'm happy you appreciated this 😊🙏 I think there is even 2 type of collectors. Those who collect because the collecting itself is fun, the treasure hunt, the deal seaking. Puzzeling together a collection not with any specific goal. And those who are completionists, who collect to have a toyline complete. The ultimate goal is to be done at one point, to own the full run. I think we both are the 1st type😂 as long a collecting is fun, we will never be done 🤣 💗💗💗

I really enjoyed your tour and going through all the different sets of ponies. Takes me back to childhood in the 80s when I was obsessed with them. I know I have one of those Mountain boy ponies which seem to be rare (as you mentioned you don't have any). I should really go and look through my old stuff at some point.

@@LauSkypainter Hi i actually did take a look after writng that comment. It is a mountain boy! The purple one called Thundercloud. Also have a Tex with hat and scarf. Some dolls mixed in with the ponies. Moon dreamers she ra, jem, Sindy, Barbie, Pippa. (Hand me downs from older sister)Princess magic touch. Mostly ponies though as they were my fave.

You have wonderful ponies and all so well cared for. It's really fun to see someone who can also talk about My Little Pony for hours 😁 And I was also born in '88! Did I understand correctly that you do not have the ponies from your childhood anymore but you remember the ones you had and rebought them? I'm lucky to still have some of my childhood ponies. I kept them because I went from playing with ponies to collecting without a pause in between, in which I may otherwise have gotten rid of them. I played with them untill I was quite old, I think around 12 years old. I remember that then the internet came and I could finally discover every mlp that existed, by visiting collector websites. That was amazing! I stopped playing with them at around 11 or 12, but because I loved them so much and had also learned that it was a thing to be an mlp collector, I felt like I had an excuse to keep them haha. Since then I've collected many more. I remember I was mind blown when I saw G3 in toy stores for the first time. I was a teenager then but my love for MLP was so big, I could't believe that ponies so similar to G1 were being made again. It felt like a miracle🤩

Thanks for watching my video 💗💗💗 and for your love of MLP 😚 Yes, none of the "childhood ponies" you saw in this video are my actual ones. I stopped playing with toys when I was about 9 or 10 and at that point my oldest niece was 3-4 years old and almost all my toys went to her. She and her younger sister (my other niece) played with my toys for a long time. And while I was able to get 3 of my childhood Barbies and a handfull of fashions back and also my dinosaurs, my cars and some other things, the ponies disappeared. They moved a lot, my sister parted with the father of my niece etc... the ponies must have gotten lost in one of those moves 🤷🏼‍♀️ they didn't sell them and I believe them.😔 I envie everybody who still has their childhood ponies. I rebought them all. But between parting with my ponies and the start of collecting them, at least 15 years passed. I just got back into them in 2013. It is amazing to hear from collectors who went from playing immediately into collecting. I've talked to maybe 3 other people of "your kind" 🤣 and it is crazy to hear about the early collecting days. Where you got your infos, how you connected with other collectors, what the prices were like, how you percieved the other gens 🤯 That is so interesting❣❣❣ Thank you for your comment ❤

I was 'forced' to get rid of all my other toys like plushies, realistic toy horses etc (which makes sense, parents want to make some room in the house 🤭). I'm so happy that my parents understood how dear my MLP were to me and never asked me to donate them.

Wow i want your cabinets / shelfs / display... so amazing... i want mlp now too.. the most colorful ones are my favorites.. i had majesty and firefly... i always loved horses but mostly with colors and pegasus and unicorns.. my first love was them from disney fantasia... i never had more mlp because i didnt really love the tv animation show because i thought they weren't look like the mlp toy... weird huh? If you have some you dont want anymore... im here... i know im sure you dont want to sell them.. 😅 i dont blame you... im pretty sure i would do the same thing ^^... you have an amazing mlp collection... you have an amazing collection anyway... wow... im happy to see im not the only one... because i always love figures, toys... my dad too.. his friend either... its not a big collection. Thank you 💗💗💗 Haha~ no, I don't sell my ponies. I have a couple of doubles that I want to trade against other ponies if possible 😅 I also loved real horses as a kid. Barbie horses, went horse riding. But the ones with fantasy colors were always the best 😁🦄 I never knew the TV show as a kid. I only knew the toys. And as an adult I have watched some of the specials, some episodes and the movie but I have to say, I don't like it very much 😅 In terms of s cartoon show, nothing beats "My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic" the cartoon for the G4 ponies. It's good that you have so many good memories with your dad and can preserve part of his collection 💝 Also yes, my Argentinian Minty is quite special. She must be a factoty error since on one side she has 7 thick clovers and on the other side 8 thin clovers. I know both versions were produced in Argentina but I've never seen them together on one pony 🤷🏼‍♀️☘

I even learn something new, for example I didn’t know that peek a boo baby ponies was not released in Europe, I have two of them and it seems that they are rarer than I thought (I’m from Poland btw). And about the guessing the pony friend you got, I’m really hoping for you to get Oakly but my guess in this case is Cha Cha the llama ✨

Thank you so much 😊 glad you enjoyed it 💗💗💗 In the US the Peek-a-boo baby ponies are definitely not rare. I think they are a very common set. And I can't say for sure that none Euro country had this set. But I can say for sure that Germany and the UK did not get this set which makes me believe that they did not have any euro releases. Ok, 2nd one who thinks it's Cha Cha 😉✌

It's always nice to see other people's collections. And new variants. Even if you think you know all the common variants of a pony, there are always more. I wish I could display my collection like this. Sonnnnne has the same Argentina Minty. And 3 more variants with the thinner symbols 😅 I still have all my childhood ponies except two. I also had Jazzie and Ringlet (she still has her original curls). And a lot more. I think they had the perfect price range for birthday presents. I renamed some of my ponies. I got the Chief of a friend when she moved and as I already had one, I named the second one Funky (english pronounciation). For Jazzie I use the english name, because of Chief-Funky. And I like the english name more anyway. Peppermint Crunch I found on a flea market, didn't know him and named him Eiscreme first. As for me he is a boy, he ist called Pfefferminz instead of Pfefferminzi now. Trickles might have been my first pony. At least I didn't have her box and so I didn't know her name. I named her Silbertröpfchen and I still keep this name because I don't like Hoppel for her at all.

I always wondered why the Sweetheart Sisters ponies looked so different. It's almost like how we have G3.5 and G4.5 versions as almost soft-reboots, though I don't see them as G1.5 because I think they are just another pony pose, and the 'regular' ponies were still being produced at the same time, but it was an interesting thought.

I think there were even 2 small reboots within the 1st gen that even collectors tend to forget about. In 1987/88 they changed the logo for the first time. The rainbow is more curved and the "y" letters looked now like capital letters and the whole fond looked a little less ornate than before. And after that they did introduce some more body types like the Swertheart Sisters or the Bride pose or the Bubblefish Pose. Those are all a little taller, a little more slender. But yepp, it's not a real reboot since they still used all the other poses as well. And the 2nd reboot within G1 I would say happened in 1992. They completely changed the pony packaging artwork at that time and they released the My Little Pony Tales cartoon which was soooo drasticly different to the first cartoon. Ponies go to school, have teenage problems, listen to rock music, stand on their behind legs all the time like humans etc. No castles, no dragons, no magic.... But also here, did not chsnge the toys itself too much. Still the same poses.

@@LauSkypainter Yes, AND I have a photo of myself getting Fleecy and Woolly on Christmas I think, 1989? And yes, 9 years ago I randomly found 16 of my actual childhood ponies in my loft! I didn't start getting into collecting until about 2 years ago. I have photos of me as a kid in the 80s with a couple more ponies and they're my most prized possessions!

Yes, with her snow flake symbol white hair suits her also perfectly.🤍🤍🤍 I guess there are some variants of ponies that look like they have the fading pink, but they don't fade at all. Like my Flurry, my "German" Princess Serena and my Curly Locks. Or there are ponies like Steamer or Sunspot that often have a faded mane but not faded tail. So my guess is that some ponies got a different hair type (sometines just the tail) that looks like the fading pink but actually does not fade at all.

@@fee-bleue I bet there are some ponies out there who were stored perfectly and that's why they never faded but with those usually the pink got at least a little bit lighter I think. My Flurry has such a hot pink, same as my Serena (which I got in a bad condition from a flea market...) that I truly think it is a different hair!!!

Yes, I do agree now that I think of it. It makes a lot more sense. Come to think of it, I checked my Princess Serena and indeed, her mane is almost white while the tail is still pink. So the storage was not the issue, you're right. How cool it is to discuss those matters with someone else, I learn so much. Thank you for your time. It is really appreciated. So many children give their ponies eyeshadow. I have a g3 Royal Bouquet which receives orange eye shadow from a previous owner. I don't mind it.

I mean who could blame them? There are even ponies who come with real eyeshadow. Sure, kids want to replicate that~ haha I think as long as it is a nice light color (not dark blue or black 😂) it is ok. There is definitely discolorations or marks that I mind more🤷🏼‍♀️

I always thought pony cancer would spread to other ponies haha so I used to keep them seperate

In all my years of collecting, I never saw that happen 🤷🏼‍♀️ But I always treat the cancer spots with hydrogenperoxid first, so they fade as good as possible and then put the pony on display. So I also can't disproof the theory 😅

@@LauSkypainter also, it is so funny that you don’t have Galaxy, while it was my first pony I bought cheaply being inspired after watching your channel 😄 And also I got Tex with his hat AND his bandanna, but that was not that cheap, but I couldn’t resist. I won an auction on Ebay for about 60 euros. That’s a lot, but having one of Big Brother ponies with hat and bandanna was one of my childhood dream, so I spoiled myself a bit. Regarding Star Hopper, I was so in love after seeing her in your videos that when she was avaiable on Vinted for around 15 euros with shipping I got her also 😅 Worst thing is that I don’t have space for more ponies, but I’m already waiting for two more 😅😂 But they were really cheap with a pony SPA need 😉

I purpisfully leave some of the more common ponies open for me😂 So I hope I can find maybe a Galaxy or a Twilight maybe one day in the wild or at a convention or in a trade or something.😋

Haha yes~ very detailed indeed 😊 I know this video will not be very popular because of the specific subject and the length but I really wanted to make a pony collection video that I would have enjoyed warching myself back in the day before I made videos. So this video is most likely for me and my own enjoyment 😜 and for those who really love My Little Pony 💗 I'm glad you reached my first childhood pony 😉

It's funny you say it's raining there. As I'm watching this while I'm working it is raining here as well! Just curious, you said you have over 460 G1 ponies on display, do you have many G1 ponies not on display?

Ahaha~ 🌧☔ But I know you love rainy days and I don't feel good when the sun is not out 😅 that's a difference with us 😂 Well, I have one drawer of ponies that are either doubles (waiting for a trade or something) or are still waiting to get rehaired. That's maybe 20 more ponies. Those I did not count. And I own 2 repro ponies which are not on display. I also didn't count those.😉

I dont have a So Soft pony yet, but I like them more then the Sweetheart Sister pony's with their lame earring 😏 I also dont like the ponys with a fishbowl or something glued to their butt, it is the pose I dont like much 'Normal ponys' and baby ponys are the best 🥰 And Flutter ponies 🥰 (All my flutters are still without wings, one day I make them or buy them, but without wings they are also lovely)
