Big Country does beautiful haunting melancholia better than anyone. Love this tune so much
Thank you for your Just A Shadow reaction. A beautiful and stirring song.
Best fucking song ever!
John...great reaction. Couldn't agree more on how great this song is. Keep it going. check out the Crossing. Stuart Adamson songwriting and lyrics are genuis. R.I.P. Stuart
This one's great. They're all good. Listen to Where the Rose is Sown.
A lesser known Big Country song from the No Place Like Home album called "Ships" is well worth a listen, very different to his other stuff but a phenomenal track
Watch the Barrowlands concert from '83. Audience participation second only to The Who.
loved this band since 1981,fantastic live...rip stuart
How I wish I still had this album on vinyl. It brings back a fantastic music era in the UK.
Chance a brilliant Big Country tune!
Try listening to the 12 inch version of this especially the intro
Scotish/English band formed in Scotland. Sadly, the lead singer Stuart, took his own life back in 2001. Their first three albums are very good, even had Kate Bush doing some backing vocals on the third album "The Seer".
You nailed the comparison with U2. I would bet they were influenced by Stuart Adamson. My cousin lives in Dumfermline, Scotland, where Stuart was from. When their soccer team enters the field they still play, "Into the Valley." Love this line, "If we only get our back against the wall, I look at backs that pushed the wall for years, Scarred by many knives and too much fear." Great Job!

The Edge practically said as much. They were fans of the Skids. A reaction to Skids' Masquerade or Into the Valley, next.
I think Big Country shared some sound with U2 because Steve Lillywhite Produced both bands and at the time the sound was unique and new.
Check out their buffalo skinners album!
Thank you for your reaction.
One of the great guitar outros of all time!!

El mejor grupo de rock escocés de los 80. Heroicas y celticas guitarras. Desde Argentina.
You should listen Big Country's album The Crossing. 10/10 album for sure.

YES IT IS, flawless from start to finish well over 30 plus years after its release. It is a 10 like you said, no skippable tracks on that album.
Fantastic band, Big Country, in all ways, lyrical content is pure poetry, them guitars just cry out, I always admired how Stuart Adamsons lyrics were quite often from a womans point of view, a great loss. I personally have every version of every song and video, live concerts, movie, their catalogue is immense with all the rarities and variations.
You should check out Big Country: Steel Town East Of Eden Stuart Adamson was great lyricist. His lyrics are almost like long poems and draw heavily from literature.
Their song " Chance " is even better ........ cool reaction .
Probably the best fade out in the history of rock music. Great album closer, too!
Just watch them live!
True fine tune. !!
Stuart was ist bigger! 😀🙌
Try some of the live videos - awesome. And, the bagpipe guitars are beautiful.
Great video and thanks for reacting to the greatest ever band all their work is superb

It's a rage against capitalism and the system..listen to the lyrics...Stuart was a humanist
