Yeah I mean I get why BB donated the money and don't think that was the wrong call. But a lot of the HG's probably needed the money too especially now. Kind of feel bad for them to go through all that and no one gets anything. But obviously they could be a lot worse off.

So Coronavirus won Canadian Big Brother 8. Honestly, I'm not a fan of the strategy it used. But hey, a win's a win. That said, I hope the producers don't bring it back for a future season. I don't think I could handle another season with this houseguest.

Trying to multiply in the Jacuzzi though was a bit tasteless. In the end Covid-19 was starting to get up my nose a bit.

We decided to donate the $100,000 to Covid relief in order to get a tax right off. Thank you!

Honestly most go in there in part if not completely for the fame and opportunities they think they will get. That being said while it is a tough call because a lot need the money more then them. I do feel bad they went through all that and got nothing. Kind of unfair to them. But like most decisions the world is having to make right now, hard to know what the right one was.

The women in the house really stuck it out this season. We love true female empowerment! 😍 None of 'em got evicted and Corona even won the $100,000 for her legendary strategy. She ended the greats even before halfway in the game.

I agree all the people working on a cure or nurses and doctors they should all be getting a fat bonus too there pay check, but they wont do that, were just sheep in a system...also think chinas government needs too explain alot when this is all over also.

They are all going to make a fortune in the long run anyway, as they all now have brands. It might take a while seeing as the Covid-19 thing but in a few years they will all be on TV hosting shit and trying to sell people handbags like the rest of the reality TV numpties. You don't need the cash prize from Big Brother, the exposure is the prize.

Not just Canadians were glued to watching them, but even here in the US!!! 💜

They should make season 9 unfinished business and have some of the cast from this season and other seasons that deserve another chance

I'm in the UK and I've never watched Big Brother Canada other than the few Coronavirus related clips. I'm sobbing for them.

Im in the uk, but been watching in here for a few days. Feel such mixed emotions for these guys, being so out of the covid-19 loop, but also some of the safest people around. Good luck to them all. Xx

Should be 50/50!!! They should’ve split the half of the prize atleast for each of the houseguest and half for the Charity! That could’ve had a big help to support their families aswell. Geez 🤦🏻‍♂️

So they go back home and then what? Quarantine themselves? Stores are already low on products, how are they gonna pay for it? What job are they going to do? How can they get money. They donated it to a Covid charity but these people literally need money to survive. They were safer inside this space and they don’t have to travel and potentially get infected. They should have given part of the money to the contestants

it says on other comments here that they still get a payment for their time they just don't win the big prize. they'll be fine. if you mean what is the point in sending them somewhere more dangerous, the move wasn't to protect the contestants but the production staff. while yes the contestants were relatively safe, outside of the walls there were cameramen, people working on keeping the set running, etc. those were the people at risk.

Could have split the 100k between the houseguests and then reallocated the remainder of the production budget (way more than 100k) to charity 🤷‍♀️

I kinda feel like these contestants were exploited in a way. Clearly the show makes a lot of money off of commercials and sponsors. I get that they are still getting paid ten thousand dollars, but these people put their life on hold for the grand prize. It could’ve been split up - and the better or could’ve still donated to charity.

I seriously think that the aftermath of this will be VERY fucking interesting to see, (I'm not even Canadian and i'm kinda curious as to what legal options the houseguests will have.) I'll be damned if AT LEAST one of the remaining ones does not try to sue them for fraud and/or breach of contract. (I do not know how the CANADIAN legal system works, but here in the U.S. if CBS EVER pulled something like what they pulled with these guys, they could easily be sued for WAY more than $500k, (I think you all know why i said $500k and not $100k.)

When the show makes millions a year and could have afforded to give them each 100k and donate triple that amount to the virus. But Instead there giving them nothing In prize money and donating about 1/100 of what the show makes a year to the virus fight

Big brother makes around 15 million worldwide a year and they still were unable to donate more or pay the players a gift for being in a box and cut from the outside world and the players were probably worried about their families

Don't know if its the same for big brother Canada, but the US version, they get 10k for being on the show, even the ones only there for a week or two. So they are getting paid for their time.

Hope they call them back for next season

They will soon realize how important that money is because things are about to get crazy all over the world.

Dudes do not worry they are being paid out trust me. They can’t just cut them off like that, especially for somewhere like Canada. As a New Zealand citizen, our financial help system has been doin an amazing job of making sure that employees and potential employers don’t lose their jobs or their businesses, and if so there is lots of help from our inland revenue departments (for once) under our current prime minister. All I’m saying is from what I hear about Canada, is I’m sure they have systems in place and that the cast of this season have not gone empty handed. They will be looked after.

K L yeah it has changed some. I know for sure USA use to be $1M reward but now it’s $500k. I believe UK still has the same prize as USA but I can’t remember exactly and Canada is $100k but I’m not sure if it was ever more than that.

I feel like it's unfair on their part coz they signed up for this hoping to win and now they didn't even get a part of the decision to donate the money or not.

The look of disappointment on the faces sums it all up they thought that money was going to them smh 🤦‍♂️
