A few design questions. First, why would you want your generators so close to the entrance and before the decon area? Wouldn't you be getting dirty and contaminating the entire bunker if you needed to work on them or turning them on? You're essentially sealing yourself off from your life supply of power... Second, why would you want a coded armor gun room in a security bunker? If anything I'd want that door on the outside so people can't get in lol. Last point, your emergency escape tunnel is behind the gun safe door. If something happened and you couldn't get out and the only guy with the safe combo is incapacitated then you are screwed. But I'm sure that was a design choice of the owner.

I would suggest using rotary switches in these bunkers (commonly used in caravans, boats and ships) because they are a lot more durable and can last a lot more than regular American ones.

I agree, maybe not a bush. But also have your escape in a room with a combination lock. That seem like a possible hazard in the need for a speedy exit.

@@happzy Oh, I agree. That $100K is just for the gunroom part. That is a bit excessive. If I was going to get a shelter, I would probably just put a gun safe in it, rather than a $100K room. Or maybe just some racking on one wall, and turn the entire thing into a gun room.

I have watched a lot of your Videos, Beautiful craftsmanship throughout. I would like to add something, on the escape hatch you cover them with plastic and tape, it seems to me that would deteriorate in a matter of a few years, you may consider a pre fabricated injected molded polyurethane cover that can stretch over the exit, thin enough to cut through but thick enough that it will last for a great many years fit it like a skirt on a Kayak, coming from someone who turns wrenches for a living thought I would toss that Idea out there. Keep up the Great work

Super nice bunker. My only question would be the fresh air supply pipe for the bunker. What if the house structure was on fire and or collapses. That may obstruct and or cause smoke to enter the pipe. Here is southeast Georgia the water table is so high it would seem impossible to have a bunker. Any suggestions on how that may be solved? Atlas is the only bunker system I would ever consider. 👍

Ron I have a question. Would it make sense to put all of the channel on the outside with the “c” shape facing down to avoid water sitting on it? I know you’re competitors don’t need to worry about that because there welds couldn’t hold marbles let alone water but you guys have really nice solid weld beads and I could see that holding some water? Just an observation from a fellow welder/fabricator. Also the sand in the emergency exit would be hard to remove if it was to get wet, did you ever consider throwing in a bunch of desiccate bags with the sand just for some added protection? Thanks

Designers! I see many people making the same gross mistake in opening an external hatch: simulate a situation where a multi-ton mass of soil, rocks and tree debris is lifted into the air by a blast wave! And all this will lie on top of the hatch cover, which opens outward and will be physically impossible to open from the inside! And even if there is an additional hole on the other side of the bunker that leads up, it will also be blocked, and the inhabitants of the bunker will be buried alive! I propose installing 2-3 manual hydraulic jacks on the door leaf, so that if the door is blocked from above, it can be raised to such a height that a person can climb through. That's the minimum.
