The air you breath is 78% nitrogen. So that means the air you pump into your tires with a regular compressor is putting in almost 80% nitrogen for free. Unless you are running a race car on a track there is virtually no advantage to spending money to fill your tires with 100% nitrogen.

DAVID MUISE I disagree. Nitrogen is much better in your tires for those of us who live in temperature swinging climates. When the temp swings during season changes I can guarantee you that you’ll have to add 5-10lbs of compressed air to compensate. I have nitrogen in my tires for two years now and I’ve never had to add air during the year ... also use nitrogen in the wife’s car too, which eliminates the dreaded text from her saying a dash light is on and has no clue why. Lol

@@Rudderify nitrogen isn't hydraulic fluid. nitrogen compresses as does pretty much any other gas and listing the gas amount in pounds is irrelevant as it will be a negligible difference in overall weight.

campsite a dude, I know it’s a gas. I am a high school grad for heavens sakes. My point is nitrogen is a more stable GAS for tires ... ask any commercial A&P mechanic what they put in tires. Additionally, nitrogen is inert and doesn’t corrode like compressed O2 does.

I know this is like 15 years old, but dude...come on. 7.3 Powerstrokes were all over the place back then. Even a 6.5 Detroit Diesel with a bigger turbo, 18:1 pistons and an intercooler would have been a better choice.
