After a Metallica show in February 1997 my buddy and I were riding the Metrolink train in St Louis and a crackhead sat next to us with a magazine, 3 plastic soda caps, and a wadded up gum wrapper and tried to use them as a 3 card monte setup. When he discovered that wasn't going to separate us from our money he suggested we get off with him at the next stop. He didn't give a reason, it was just sort of implied "get off at Union Station wirh me so I can take your money." But this dude was so out of it we could have put him in a snuff film. He eventually gave up and got up to stumble away and fell and smacked his face hard on the wall. Over a speaker you just heard an annoyed black woman's voice ask "sir, can I help you?"
