Yeah this is why this storyline should not work in the first place. If Leonard prefer to spend time playing with the toys instead of working, then yeah Penny had a point to get mad. Plus, Leonard was extremely gullible here because he let Penny dictate his life when at the time they were not even dating exclusively. Leonars self esteem when it comes to Penny was so low that he would literally do anything to impress Penny.

Alex Valdez Exactly! Sheldon handled this like a boss, stood up for Leonard like how he should have had the balls, backbone and common sense to do for himself and gave Penny a piece of his mind. Leonard was so pathetic to just let Penny get in his head and manipulate him into throwing out everything he loves, and he never even appreciated or thanked Sheldon for doing this for him; it took another guy turning up at Penny’s door for him to come to his senses, he really is pathetic like she said he was.

It wasn't exactly they're fault. The elevator is broken, how else are they going to get it up to the apartment? They also didn't block her intentionally, it was just bad timing. Also it wouldn't have mattered what it was. Anything could have blocked the stairwell. It could've been a couch, dresser, refrigerator, or any number of things. Since it is a public stairwell, anyone has the right to move possessions up and down if they need to.

I'd never date someone who'd make me get rid of my collectibles. I was once with this girl who was into reality shows, MTV and partying. She found no interest in going to see Thor: The Dark World with me in 2013 and even said that if I didn't sell my games, consoles, comic books, action figures, posters, as well as my dvds, blurays that show maturity in me, then she'd leave me. I own a statue of Yuna from FFX that's actually lifesized. It's 162cm tall (5.3ft) which is supposed to be Yuna's actual size in the game. It cost me an arm and a leg at the time, but it has been the pride of my collection for many years. I once dated someone who found the statue creepy and had it scare the living daylights out of her in the middle of the night once because she thought there was another person in the room. After that, she tried to make me get rid of it, to a point where she made me choose between her or it. I still have it to this day. #noregrets

Yeah, but there's only so many nerd-toys you can have on a shelf before an interest becomes an obsession, and something that ultimately takes you away from sharing time with your partner. I've collected all kinds of stuff over the years from vintage/antique goods, retro computers/consoles, and old bicycles. I'd happily trade it in for a decent attempt at love if I had to, because my interests would be elsewhere by that point and I'd be willing to show that person that she meant more than the possessions I'd never put a monetary value on. A good balance is probably the ideal solution, but you can't really expect a healthy relationship when you're on eBay each day buying mint-in-box star-trek toys while you're wife is raising your children on a shoestring budget.

Agreed. Penny took advantage of Leonard's like for her to use his Wi-fi and eat the guys food ( even after they broke up in s3) . It's also Leonard's fault because he doesn't say anything about this or seems to have an issue about it. In the pilot, she asked Leonard to get her tv from Kurt . They first met and Penny is already telling Leonard what to do.

Same here. I would never make a man give up his hobbies or collectibles. Just like I wouldn’t expect them to make me give up mine. I know it doesn’t always happen, but we should be with someone who accepts you for you and the things that excite you, fantasy, manga, anime, comics, fashion, history, science, the arts and so in. I know I sound preachy, my bad, but it’s what I think. We should be with someone who balances us out. It would be fun to have similar interests, where you can discuss movies or tv shows with each other.

There are two things in this video that are reasons for why I didn’t like Leonard’s character: 1. He let Penny get in his head and tries to throw out all of his collectibles and things he loves not because he wants to but because of her calling him pathetic for loving them; Penny might be the one in the wrong and might have apologised, but she was right to call Leonard pathetic for the fact that he would let her manipulate him like that and for the fact that he had no backbone to stand up to her, instead he’d just do whatever it takes to impress her or make her like him. 2. Sheldon on the other hand actually handled this situation like a boss, but really the fact that Leonard wouldn’t listen to reason from his roommate and best friend is again what I hated about him that he didn’t appreciate Sheldon at times for standing up for him and doing something on his behalf, despite how annoying he is and how much he has to put up with from him.

Leonard was pathetic (i mean he was written this way, to be extremely pathetic) . Collectibles, miniatures, trains, or cars - everything could become pathetic when attached to a character who escapes real world challenges. Later on he becomes mature not in a "artificial way" (by forcing himself to get rid of smth) but by actually improving his life, getting real world experience, becoming wiser (well. for sitcom anyway) .

I never considered myself a nerd, but the opening the star wars figurine flashed me back to when I was eight and yelled at my brothers when they tried opening one on Christmas day stating they were more collectable in their package undamaged...I have three boxes full of everything they reproduced in 1996 before the 1997 release of the prequel starwars

I’m a girl but Penny was absolutely awful here. She does have these moments even later in the show (and gets called for it by Sheldon or the girls) where she sees her way of living being the only right way. Let the man enjoy what he loves. Yeah I mean there are some things about them that make them childish but penny isn't perfect. How would she feel if they got upset and called her a drunk cuz she can't go 10 minutes without drinking some wine.
