Adams definitely killing it in the vintage dealers watch space on YT...showing the ins nd outs of the business. As always keep it up almost at 10k Subs!

You're kidding surely.
Great format. Following auctions always feels so unapproachable, but this is very accessible 👍

They can be! We like AQ a lot because they only do watches so it’s not as “stuffy”. Not to say the rest suck though!
Love these types of videos! Keep em coming Adam!

Really enjoyed that
Adam, congrats on getting 3 of the watches that you bid on at auction. I was wondering if you can clear up some confusion from your comments on the Rolex DJ with the stone dial at 9:30. You once warned us that if the parts do not match the original watch, then to avoid the watch as a Frankenstein watch. The hands are lumed and not original, so isn't the watch severely devalued to the point where it is not sellable? Also, after you bought the watches at your strike price, what are the fees that the auction house tacks on afterwards that you must pay?
This is my favorite type of content. Adam is crushing it!!

Wow, thanks!
Love the channel. Important day yesterday Important things in the world.
Such a great episode, truly stunning watches. I really thought the Patek Nautilus was beautiful, the patina on the dial really stood out. The Rokex ref. 6241 was absolutely stunning, for a solid 14k watch. It may not be a popular as it would be in 18k, but it just shows Rolex's journey with using gold for a certain marker. Not that this really makes any difference, the Vacheron animal statue is not a Buffalo, it's a Bison. The Bison are in North America and Eurooe, the Buffalo come from Africa and Asia. They are in the same family, the Bovidae family, but they are not closely related. Great episode Adam, you brought us remarkable watches with some great insight and some history.
Keep it up, Adam. Love the content. 🔥
I was shocked at the sales price of the Cartier Bamboo...Cartier is going through a tulipmania. Lets hope it holds.

Bamboo is exceedingly rare and that one was maybe best example in the world. Not cheap, but impossible to replace!
Such an interesting conversation!

very interesting👍👍thx
Thanks for the quick reply. I have been thinking of getting 5070j or the 5270g first dial configuration and their prices at auction are better than retail. Thinking if I had a dealer bid for me and paid the dealer the basically the sales tax that I would save for their time. Do you ever bid on watches for a particular client.
Another great video!!!! Please keep doing this.

Thanks!!!
Would be interesting to get your views post-auction. E.g. the Daytona sold way over what you were discussing. Also just you going through the overall catalog with final pric es and where things landed and your feelings on those would be valuable

At auction since you are a dealer do you pay sales tax if you win a lot.

Domestically (within US) no, as long as we submit a resale certificate. Overseas, only if you take the property with you. If they export it, we are no subject to VAT, only import duties like everyone else.
Im telling everyone about this channel but don't really want to because i want it to myself ❤

Adam, can you do some more content on Cartier? Why don’t they get the attention they deserve from the secondary market. Neo vintage Cartier is sick.

I think they get a lot of attention now a days. We are huge fans of them in the shop.
Sorry guys, I meant Julian's watch
Is Sacha wearing a 14270? it looks really nice but doesn't seem to have a sapphire crystal and the bracelet looks too modern for the watch to be a 1016

Obsidian, strange choice of stone. Basically worthless. When I think of Obsidian, I think of the Aztecs and Cortes conquest of Mexico. With 500 men and Spanish steel they defeated the Aztecs, who used clubs with Obsidian cutting edges. The Aztecs, like all those before them in the region, used obsidian (which they called itztli) for weapons such as knife blades, arrowheads, spear blades, dart tips, and axe heads. One particular Aztec weapon was the combination of sword and club known as a macuahuitl.

So funny how Americans dress homeless at European events when people are wearing suits and shirts. Always makes me laugh
