Again we meet Scholars..

I was lucky enough to see Bic Runga live in London. She was the support act for the Finn Brothers at the Royal Albert Hall, just her alone up on stage looking so adorably nervous. I'd not heard of her before, but fell instantly in love with her music buying her CD the next day. Beautiful voice, beautiful girl, beautiful songs.

I've seen her three times in London, but sadly not at the RAH, which I'd have loved because the Finns were promoting the magnificent Everyone Is Here album. She is just brilliant.

This video may not have many views but in NZ (where I live) it's very popular. You hear it on the radio, tv and in malls and the like all the time.

She was very popular in Australia too. When I lived in Australia in early 2000s, they played her songs in Bars and Restaurants.

That strange feeling when you wake up someday and remember a good old song. You whistle it all day long and then you sing it together with this one. Amazing one to remember suddenly after all these years. Thank you for existing.

Man, this song gets me in the feels every time. I think back to seeing Bic live, crying my eyes out. I get emotional, I almost well up. Such a great tune.

lgrsydney cus everybody is obsessed with 'sway' because it was in American Pie. I do love 'sway' but she has so many good songs and this was my all time favourite when I was a kid.

Look at Bursting Through - the views are just dismal for such an amazing song. There something else going on though. In the "about" section of this channel it says "Joined Sep 26, 2017" yet the vids are older. Why would Bic Runga wait until 2017 to have a You Tube presence too? Nothing makes sense.

Few years ago, I accidentally heard this played by our neighbor on their speaker now I'm still listening to this song.

I think if I were to move to Kiwi Land (New Zealand) I would find my inner peace.

Highest rate of youth suicide rate in the world. Poverty is a problem, housing crisis too; highest amount of gang members per capita in the world and second for prison population per capita, just behind the US. NZ is also the only other country which allows pharmaceuticals to be advertised on TV. And NZ is the third most obese country.

As a Maori woman myself and the daughter of an ex patched gang member.. , yes there are many plus sides to the country and their are down sides too, our new Prime Minister has started to action a lot of good despite being on maternity leave, fixing what John Key did to our country, Gang activity doesn't happen nearly as much as the world assumes and Obseity is slowly coming down and our tourist economy is in full swing. Absolutely you can find peace here just be prepared to work hard for it.

Nostalgia...

This is one of my most favorite songs. For some silly reason, I missed her performance when she performed in Melbourne in 2003. I still regret it. I don't live downunder anymore and I don't know when she will perform in California and if I will get a chance.

I can't help allowing myself a wry smile at the way common language can differ so much, as in this example of New Zealand English vs. USA English: " . . . Shoot into the station, make a dedication - this is going out to everyone..." - "to shoot somewhere" meaning to go somewhere quickly, with purpose, in NZ parlance. In Trump's America, well...you get the idea.
