I always like the "but witnesses never completely agree" defence. It tends to ignore that one gospel author states they weren't a witness, and ignores that actual witness statements are questionable if they deviate in important details relating to the claimed event. Also witnesses have to be verified. Claiming that something is a witness statement doesn't make it one anymore than claiming you have witnesses means they exist.

Christians love pointing out things in the Bible that appear to be contradictory at the surface really aren’t when you dive into the subject. But when you dive into the subject and point out ALL the contradictory things, they get REAL quiet. 🦗🦗🦗 It's like how quiet they get as soon as you call their false bluster and challenge to discuss their points on a live stream...

So true. Some of the contradictions bear more weight than others. The contradictions in the gospels are among the weaker ones, because apologists can easily deflect them. The better contradictions are the ones that contradict reality. The genesis account is chock full of strong contradictions. Many of the scriptures concerning Jesus are contradictory to the claim that he was without sin or was a bastion of good morality. Same with the gh0d. Sometimes, the xtian book is contradictory to the nature of the believer. Like, when I first learned that WwLib was a women, and I kept bringing up examples of misogyny from the xtian book until she finally blew up and asserted that she did not care, and hand-waved away the examples as it was part of the "culture" of those times. She doesn't care unless it affects her personally. And then, she'll bring up the Good Samaritan without a hint of irony on her part. The SAB (Skeptic's Annotated Bible) is an excellent reference tool that points out many contradictions. Even better, it points out common apologist's rebuttal to every contradiction. These rebuttals are often times humorous in their ridiculousness. There is an online SAB that is free to use, and easy to use. Within the website are also an annotated Qu'oran and Book of -Moron- Mormon.

There's only one good reason why the story keeps changing. Just like in court with the defendant. It changes, bc It's not true.

Or as Christians would say, the story changing is proof that it's real eye witness accounts. So it's true whether it's consistent or inconsistent, apparently.

I wonder how christians will react once they realize all their bible stories are stolen from other, older myths. Noah's Flood is a copy of Gilgamesh's Flood, the story of Moses is a rip-off of Sargon of Akkad. Hell is stolen from Tartarus from Greek Myth, with the Norse name Hel placed on top of it. The Angels are just taken from the Valkyries. And Jesus is just another Demigod rip-off which almost all myths have. Nothing in the bible is original and pretty much the entire christianity is a rip-off of older mythologies, meaning of all of them, christianity is the least likely to be true. Besides, my true God, Odin, Creator of the world and mankind, is waiting for me in Valhalla.

@@martingrey2231 The concept of angels originated in the Old Testament, which were in turn influenced by various ancient Near Eastern cultures, including Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Canaanite, and Persian traditions. I don't think it's accurate to say that angels were borrowed from Nike. Angels are generally considered to be messengers, as you said, and Nike was not a messenger.

The thing about three of the gospels saying that the stone was already rolled away when the women arrived, but Matthew says it wasn't rolled away until after they got there is a contradiction so glaring I don't even hear apologists attempt to explain it. They know there's no way around it. As far as two of the gospels saying there were two beings inside the tomb, and the other two gospels saying there was only one, I've heard Norm Geisler try to explain it away by saying that the two gospels that said there was one didn't say there was ONLY one, so there could've been two. The obvious problem with that explanation is that you would have two of the gospel writers saying there was one of something when in fact there were two, so they would be giving inaccurate information at best and outright lying at worst. But either way that means they can't be trusted because what they're saying is not actually true. If there were actually two, why did they say there was only one?

There are certainly enough internal inconsistencies as well as inconsistencies with kniwn facts to ensure that the notion that the Bible is inerrant on the facts cannot reasonably be argued. Unfortunately, there are plenty of people who can be quite unreasonable.
