I believe what you likely got your friend was Bhakti 50 1868-1970. An armagnac blend, with much of the older blend being sourced from private collections in France. Then finished in Islay scotch barrels. Incredible stuff and sold for around $400 when it was released. Not cheap, but quite extraordinary stuff given the age and “lore” around it
I'm continuing to enjoy the whiskey vault content.
Ah yes.... the smell of a fresh clean unmatched video and the pride of being first ❤
This is the content I joined the tribe for!
Welcome to Mr. Whittington's Gifted Drams Neighbor! That is a good looking bottle!
Haven’t watched in a long time. Man, the room has filled up! Much love.
The word you're looking for is Hutzpah.

Thanks for the video 🥃
Danny-boi, good information. Love the whole walking in as a wizard, switching to whiskey sommelier, then switching back schtick - but the energy of the presentation is low. You need someone else to banter and trade notes with. You need a new 'Rex' to step up the chaotic/fun factor. Maybe invite some members of the local Texas craft to join you? Could have someone from a local brewery or popular watering hole there that could then give their socials at the end? Not trying to poo poo your presentation - would just like the energy of a companion taster to watch.
I wonder if putting gem stones in a barrel would make the whiskey better. They have Water decanters with gem stones in them you can taste the difference in the different gem stones. Let them age in a barrel with the whiskey might to wonderful things
FIRST!! Morning Daniel!
The word you’re looking for is chutzpah Traditionally in Hebrew it means itreverence coming from a place of extensive knowledge and respect. In America we use it as kind of an ass. But it’s more someone knows a lot about something and loves it and therefor can take a big risk that require boldness to go against the grain that pays off and shakes up the status quo
Daniel, I’m wondering if you should do some sort of a five or 10 point scale where you can rate the bourbon based on either your palate or expectations from nose to palate. For instance, maybe you would give this one a six out of 10 or a three out of five. “Daniel’s Diagnosis” 6 out of ten shot glasses. 🤓
Self assured?
Some antonyms for "tradition": aberration, abnormality, anomaly, oddity, exception, rarity, deviation, aberrancy, digression, departure, deviation, deflection, departure, diversion, deviance, heedlessness, difference, divergence, digression, nonconformity, shift, straying, disparity, drift, irregularity, variance, veering, bend, divergency, variableness, divagation, deviancy, change, which one were you thinking of?
Just drinking a Wild Turkey Rare Breed but my tasting notes are very different to what I hear from you and other reviewers. So, I get leather, oaky tobacco or specifically the smell of cigar boxes. I don't get any of the apples, cheerier etc. that I know others do. Could you do a basic video on tasting, 'nosing' etc for us beginners to discuss what is purely subjective and what is about training your senses (how would I do that?)? Cheers from Dr John Sorensen in the UK!

Iconoclastic?
Forgetting words. Welcome to the first stage of getting old.

Mgp. Midwestern grain products. They are the largest producer of sourced whiskey in North America right now
for the low price of $70-80, you can get one of those bottles with a bonus of liquor

A quick Google search, and this bourbon is going for $300. A little out of my price range.

$140-150 at my local stores. Maybe $300 is secondary pricing?
