Beyond the Visible | Narrated by Jodie Foster [Very Large Array]

Ғылым және технология

An inspiring 24-minute exploration of the synergies of technology and human curiosity that power the world's most productive radio telescope. Narrated by Academy Award-winning actress Jodie Foster (star of the film "Contact," which was based on the novel by Carl Sagan and filmed at the VLA), the program depicts many of the people whose diverse efforts enable the VLA to be a cutting-edge resource for astronomers and humanity worldwide. Winner of a 2014 Cine Golden Eagle Award, 2014 Interpretive Media Award from the National Association for Interpretation, and a 2014 Bronze Telly Award. For more information about the visiting VLA, go to public.nrao.edu. The National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) is a facility of the National Science Foundation operated under cooperative agreement by Associated Universities, Inc.

If only Carl Sagan could see the telescopes like the James Webb he would have been awestruck at the clarity and depth of field. The ones shown will allways be of very important use,and are free of colliding meteors or bits of asteroids

Gen. 2,5 These are the things that were created before they were in the world. In Gen. 1 the earth and man was created. In Gen 2. The earth and man was formed. Yes a world in a world! We are here and from that other world. Our final destiny is of neither. The resurrection of man is of his choice. Our future is our choice by our mortal Earth's decisions. We, like these earthly listening devices, also receive signal's, not from the mortalverse, but from the eternalverse, through our psyche, (Spirit) The signal's are a voice. The sound of the voice is comforting, and guides us through life. Thoes who listen and follow, will unite one day with him that speaks to our Hart.

"It's still #classified above Top Secret." - Senator Barry Goldwater, 1975 “Behind the scenes, high-ranking Air Force officers are soberly concerned about UFOs. (6) After the plane from Roswell arrived with the material, I asked the Base Commander, Col. Al Clark, to take possession of the material and to personally transport it in a B-26 to Maj. Gen. @@Dodgevair What most people fail to realize is that the concept of UFO's are such bad ideas as to be unthinkable by any civilization able to do it. Physics would seem to rule out faster than light travel for anything with mass; so until that's demonstrated wrong, it's established science. Without FTL speeds, it makes no sense to spends thousands of years traversing empty space just to crash in the middle of nowhere or just abduct people in the middle of the night. Plus, when those ships would have had to have left their home systems, there was no Human civilization that would have drawn their interest. Probably not even Human beings. Popular culture would have it that ET's are able to pop over in hours, easy-peasy. The facts of the matter are very different, but people are not aware of the science involved. Even the tried and tested trope of invading Earth for our water is nonsense. Europa probably has more water (locked up as ice) than Earth does. Why bother trying to invade a planet and risk yourself when you can just cut up and transport an icy world (across billions of miles for tens of thousands of years). At any rate, water has been proven to be very common in the Cosmos, so why bother coming at all?

The heavens declare the Glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Psalm 8:3‭-‬4 who commands the sun, and it does not rise; who seals up the stars; who alone stretched out the heavens and trampled the waves of the sea; who made the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the chambers of the south; who does great things beyond searching out, and marvelous things beyond number. Job 9:7‭-‬10 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure. The Lord lifts up the humble; he casts the wicked to the ground. Psalm 147:3‭-‬6 Give thanks to the Lord all ye people! For it is He and He alone that gives to every one of us our very life and breath. When you see the unfathomable size of the created universe and consider the vast number of stars and galaxies, remember that we, mankind, are the capstone of His creation. Christ the Holy Son of the Father, who is very God of very God and who made all that we see, humbled himself and took on flesh and became one of us. Why? To redeem a people of His own and dwell with them forever. This is the whole purpose and meaning of everything.

Genesis 1:3. Light created (Day 1) Genesis 1:14 Sun created (Day4) How could there be light before the sun? Oh wait, apologist say god was light, but in that case god didn't created light in Gen 1:3. The light was always there. So why did god need to create the sun? Leviticus 11:6 Says the rabbit chews cud. The rabbit has a completely different digestive system from Bovine. It does not chew cud (a regergitation). It eats it own fecal matter. Eating fecal matter is called "coprophagia", not rumination. Leviticus 11:19 describes the bat as a bird. The bat is a mamal, not a bird. Leviticus 11:23 Says you may not eat of 4 leg insects. Insects have 6 legs (by definition). Isaiah 11:12. Four corners of the earth. Really, the earth has four corners? I've never seen that on any pictures of the earth taken from space. Apologist like to point out north, south, east, and west. Please point out north, south, east, and west to me on a sphere. From Joshua 10:12-15 12) On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.” 13) So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on[a] its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. 14) There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel! 15) Then Joshua returned with all Israel to the camp at Gilgal. There is no actual evidence that the sun stood still. There was a claim that a computer tech showed NASA about the long day. This person had a very limited connection to NASA and only comes from the computer tech who uses the claim in his ministry. No confirmation from NASA. Judges 1:19 And the lord was with Judah, and he took possession of the hill country, but he could not drive out the inhabitants of the plain, because they had chariots of iron. (RSV) Well, there goes tha "all powerfull" idea. Luke 1:1-4, the writer admits he wasn't an eyewitness, but retelling what others told him. Unless we can examine Luke's source material, the gospel of Luke can only be taken as hersay. How did Judas die Matthew 27:5 And he [Judas] cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. Acts 1:18 Now this man [Judas] purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. If Judas hung himself then burst open, he must have already been dead when he it the ground. If he hung himself the fell "headlong" on the field, he would have had to turn 180 degrees down. If he was dead he would have fallen feet first. He could NOT have thrown the money in the temple then used it to buy the field, later. I know that some apologists like to "claim" that the temple priests took the money and bought the field. But that's not how chain of custody works. Judas abandoned the money, giving it up. So... Therefore there are errors in the bible, therefore NOT inerrant, therefore NOT the word of god...QED...

@@dodo1opps I must add in my response that although you do not believe, the truth is that God sent His Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved. If you accept the reality that currently things in this world are not what people say they want, (peace, love, happiness, no pain or suffering), scripture says that God is restoring all these things. But our sin and sinful nature had to be dealt. Our sin is the reason things are as they are, but God dealt with it by His Son. So He calls every human being everywhere, every nation, language, ethnicity, to believe in the Son, for forgiveness of sin and obtain eternal life. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
