The team were also marked by the bush administration pro war propaganda for irak. The style was mauresque for architecture and Mediterranean because of the Arabic style of Heral in the music, in fact they used derbuka a North African drums, not Indian. The game is supposed to be multicultural input, Ubisoft Casablanca and Milan worked on the game… also Michel Ancel lived in Tunisia when he was young, so there a lot of North African influence, today Ubisoft Casablanca doesn’t exist anymore, and the team still work on BGE2. under great pressure and they have to redo bge2 since they changed chief project many times and the new one is incompetent (from a source who worked there) but the game is going to be release for sure (Yves Guillemot is producer)… I can only tell you it’s too much ambitious and they try to use the idea of the first one who use only 5% of what they had in mind… and even greater.

I always think of this when the word Propaganda is used. As you might have guessed, I think of it often now.

This song has lived rent free in my head for almost two decades

The thing is, this is not just a banger. It perfectly fits the game's themes - Akuda Bar is the local hive of dissidents and intellectuals (that's why nobody's ratting out the resistance). If someone would bemoan actual state/planet's propaganda, it would be people in the bar. In addition, lyrics are primarily in Bulgarian - and Bulgaria has it's history with authoritarian rulers, both the Tzar and the communists. Every element in this game is perfect.

The soundtrack is so incredibly dense and diverse, incorporating all kinds of cultural influences, always fitting the mood and the same time conveying the basic matter of the game, which is that diversity and open-mindedness is the key for a successful living. For me, this is the most memorable soundtrack to any game ever. And really, this is a shame, if you look at it. As this game is over a decade old and given that nowadays there is much more money to be made in the video game business, there should be an sucessor by now, but obviously nobody ever dared to approach the soundtrack question which such an artistic spin since then.

If "Satan himself can appear as and angel of light", then so can lesser demonic entities appear to be "alien"! Whenever she encountered aliens, the "Propaganda" song came on. The aliens are the Propaganda used to hide the fact that demons exist....

Oh hey this is extremely cool! I botched together some lyrics when I was a kid studying Japanese and Spanish, so I don't have much of an ear for Bulgarian or languages like it and what I came up with is totally different in a lot of places. Any chance you could throw in some phonetic support? I see this line is translateable if you ask Google Translate, but I can't make "vrianneledenji" fit with what I'm hearing as "byauderlinne" no matter how hard I try. (Thanks for "notsusokje" in particular, recently I was killing myself trying to figure out if that started with a "d" or a "b" or a "g" until I finally decided it must be "th." Like I said, bad ear lol.) Edit: Actually these appear to completely break Google translate? I was getting "Propaganda and work in English," and "Propaganda and human resources," and "Propaganda and non-public relations," which all seemed so appropriate to the theme that I figured it was probably intentional, but as soon as I individually search for those words in Bulgarian from other sources, they're totally different. Man I just love everything about this game. The atmosphere, soundtrack, characters, design, gameplay, hovercraft and the open world. This shit was revolutionary back in the day and still holds up unbelievably well, they don't make games like this anymore, I can see the passion in every part of the game. The emotional impact this game had on me as a kid was unmatched, losing Pey'j in the factory like that fucked me up bro. Currently waiting on the 20th Anniversary Edition. I hope that when you read this it will have already arrived and if so, go play it now!

My only memory about this game : - this music - my mom bought this game as a kid for me without knowing nothing about video games

Random story time, I'm as old as this game, a 2003 kid. In I think 2008-2009 they did a random giveaway of this game and prince of persia sanda of time for pc with coca cola, my grandma owned a kiosk so she gifted the games to my brother and me. I remember bright as day booting this in my dad's 90s pc with windows xp, however I was kind of a scary cat so I never played past the part with the soul reaper in the factory because it scared the ever living shit out of me, I only beat it once and my heart was pounding so hard I just stopped playing. 1 week ago in class my brain suddenly decided to revive this song 14 years later out of nowhere and I remembered that I never beat it, but got tremendously good at everything before the reaper fight because I just kept replaying that part, I'm currently half way through my playthrough I believe, reaper defeated and remembering every got damn Pearl. Thanks for reading my trip down memory lane

I'm not entirely sure what language this is but it has some bulgarian in the beginning and around the middle there which translates to "Domz has the power. You must not listen to their propaganda which puts the people to sleep. We are subjected to the violence of the Alpha section." Otherwise I have no idea what the language is.

Follow-up to a pretty good game. "Hey guys we know its been 16 years since the original but we've got this trailer and uh." "Oh you want a beta after that vague trailer we put out?" "Well we should have one around late 2019.." (2019 goes by) "Ha, don't worry guys it'll be out maybe in 2020." As soon as I heard this was a prequel and possibly open-world I was out. Ubisoft just breeds disaster. They don't want to even bother making a sequel to the original because its been too long and they have no idea how people would react to it.. its a real shame.

It's funny, because a song called "Propaganda" drowns out the propaganda of the Alpha Sections.

The form of this song just perfectly shows it's point - you have a lot of information, words, facts, but only the "hidden message" is important, the word "propaganda". Just like in real propaganda with it's complex form and simple message.

Hey, that's not fair. The Assassin's Creed games are a ton of fun if you like sandbox games. Granted, they don't need to be put out annually, but I seriously doubt that has anything to do with the sequel not being made. I think that has more to do with the fact that the game didn't sell well. I'm sure this is a good game, though. I don't know yet. I just bought it on the UPlay sale.

***** AC was fun for me the first 3 times I played the same game over and over. First AC was... ok, kinda boring but innovative, AC2 expanded on it great time, it was one of the best games I've played, Ubisoft cought that ppl loved this game, they do almost nothing to improve the games. Brotherhood was cool as well but nothing new. Graphics? Ok, they upgrade it. But gameplay? Come on, this game is dull and casual as FUCK. I fell asleep playing Revelations, I'm suprised I even finished it. I was not interested in AC3 one bit, same with Black Flag, the next game White Flag (a joke) is as interesting to me as last year's snow. Sorry but gameplay in this series is TERRIBLE. It was good, at first. But how long can you parkour with 3 buttons pressed at the same time for 80% of the game? How long can you hold one button and tap the other one to win every 1 vs 80 fight? Come on this is boring as hell, can't bring myself again to launch an Assassin's Creed game, unless they overhaul it, make the fights interesting, make parkour interesting.

***** I enjoy the parkouring myself, but that's just me. I admit 3 was bad, but I enjoyed the rest of them. I even liked Brotherhood and Revelations. 4 was good. The main missions not so much, but sailing around as a pirate and blowing stuff up was a ton of fun. Eh, to each his own, I guess. But still...my point is that the games have nothing to do with the lack of sequel to Beyond Good and Evil. Same publisher, but that doesn't mean anything.

it indirectly affect the lack of sequel,since all of ubisoft teams were in different projects and the team that was to make the sequel of BGE was busy with Rayman Origins

I've seen next-gen screenshots of Jade & Pey'j, chillin' on an RV or something. So, don't give up on a sequel just yet.
