It takes 40 seconds between the first and the second time Pey'j catches a fly in this video. The game was announced on May 28, 2008. So it takes him 40 seconds to catch a fly, which means every 2 minutes he catches 3 flies. That's 90 every hour, 2160 every day or 788.400 flies every year. I am writing this comment at 4 am (November 1, 2021) which means he ate roughly *10.595.211* flies at this point. The game, however, hasn't come out which means he is still there in that desert catching those flies.

2024 march 8th, pey'j has had himself a planets worth of flies.. some say he's still going, eating flies.. slow blues guitar plays in background*

It's amazing to think that when I first saw this trailer I thought it looked unbelievably good; like there was no way a game could actually look this detailed, even in a pre rendered trailer. Fast forward 8 years and now I think it simply looks fine. Not ugly by any means, but not exactly spectacular. It never stops to amaze me how fast video game graphics has evolved, even if it has slowed down compared to how it was from the 80's into the 2000's.

That’s true, which makes it even more frustrating we haven’t gotten this game yet (or I guess never will since this version was scrapped and the upcoming bg&e2 is not a sequel but prequel ).

I feel as we go further into graphical evolution its more about the behind the scenes stuff and finer details, such as DLSS and Ray tracing, we've already achieved photo-realism, now it's about making it less taxing on hardware

he isn't counting, he's saying the year the game will come out: 5051

It's been 16 years since the announcement of this game.. I have grown up, and so did my son.. Before it was I and now we are still waiting for this game to come out.

The game is never coming out, and if it does it’s not going to be what it was intended to be in 2008. The 2017 version would just be an inferior, more buggy starfield. They just need to scrap the 2017 build, cancel it completely and make a direct sequel to the original

I remember seeing this on some TV game program when I was 11 or something. Never understood wtf this was about, and we still haven't gotten this game.

Uploaded 8 years after the trailer and it's been 8 years since the upload. Hopefully it will come out this generation.

15 years. The studio is cutting projects, but not this. It'll see daylight, but probably won't be the polished gem it deserved. Honestly, this long in development hell means there's likely a few core problems.

Maybe this game will finally be released for Xbox Series X and PS5.

And honestly, looking back the 2017 version, while it looked good at the time, has not aged well at all, it would just be a buggy mess, an inferior version of starfield without character creation or RPG elements. They should just do what they got right with the first game and make an early 2000s style platformer with updated mechanics, a direct sequel to the first game. The 2017 version just looks like it would be a boring, buggy mess that would be hard to implement, they had a plan of space travel which was pretty cool but they never explained what the purpose of changing so much from the first game was

Basically the developers hover car (game) broke down and they haven't yet been able to repair it and get it off the ground (completed and released).

Looks like the typical "HD" graphics of the late 2000's, most games from this time didn't really age that well, they looked bloomy and plasticy, the bump maps were low quality and pixelated at points and textures were low res, the bump maps being relied on to make them look better. UE3 games were the worst looking although there were few exceptions.
