We love the bright light...big change from a regular light bulb. The motion sensor is super sensitive. It even captures movement from under the utility room door. Impressive!

I just picked up two regular ones and two ultras from Home Depot in the US, while on a trip. I just opened them up to install and both ultras were broken where the screws on the back fasten to the body of the unit. I'm not heading back to trade them for perfect units... I'll likely glue the suckers. Great review!

I just bought a house and they left the original Beyond Bright one (sensorless) in the garage. I like the brightness but I hate the daylight cool blue look and prefer a light that is bright white (pure white) for the garage. Is the Ultra version bright white or does it have that blueish daylight white color? I like the idea of the sensor as multiple times the garage light goes overnight without being turned off and it can turn on with the car pulling in.

I have 2 of them and I like them except for the motion sensor. It is WAY WAY WAY too sensitive. I'm talking about it turning on with movement from an adjoining room. I have one in my utility room which is the floor under the bedroom. If I move in the bedroom the light comes on. It's not just randomly coming on. I wait for minutes without moving and as soon as I move even a little it comes on, and I'm on the floor above. There's a small gap in the heating duct work that lets me see if it comes on. I don't know what technology is being used to detect motion but it penetrates walls and floors. Unbelievable! Should be called Beyond Sensitive. If I could turn down the sensitivity this would be great.

I bought 2 of them today and I'm having the same problem. I have a 3 car garage and the light closer to the door going into the house always comes on. All I have to do is go up to the front door and it comes on even tho its in the garage.

same problem. did you find a solution? I completely tapped up the sensor and it still turned on!!! WTF! are there more sensors other than the ball?

Just bought two of them today and the sensors are bad they keep turning on and off. Sometimes they don’t even detect motion. I had the quadburst lights but decided to get these for the motion sensor but I will be returning these. My neighbors moving around in their house causes the lights to turn too sensitive.

The Beyond Light Ultra is a $30 piece of junk I purchased today and will return tomorrow. The motion sensor is so overly sensitive something in my garage kept it cycling back on. I taped over the flashing security light inside my Tacoma. I went through great pains to find the source and it must have been a ghost. I purchased a home that had a similar light without motion detection. Of course one of the three panels was already burned out. I should have known better. This is how you write a honest review.

I love this light but it is way to bright for my space, but I love the motion sensor feature. And ideas of how to dim the light? Is there a covering or something that would work?

They have an earlier version without the motion sensor that is not as bright...that being said, I too like the motion sensor feature. As for dimming this one, I wouldn't put anything on top of the light...a safety thing. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Hey Jeff, thanks for video. I purchased 2 for my garage but unfortunately my sensors stopped working after 5 days. the lights would only work on the "on" position. It's a great product but i had to return them to HD

I picked one up and I like it. It would be nice if we can get four those 3 panels with LEDs lights and extend atleast a foot.

I'm in the same boat with others, the lights come on randomly with no motion. I'm going to try taping off the sensors, but it looks like that hasn't worked for others that tried it. It's too bad, since they are very bright, but I bought them specifically for the motion sensors.

I've heard the same thing from many people. Sounds like a design flaw. Mine is in the garage so I haven't noticed if it comes on randomly. They do have a non motion sensor version if that helps. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Shuts off in under a minute, unless it detects motion.

This light uses a microwave motion sensor as opposed to an infrared motion sensor. Unlike infrared, the microwaves can travel though solid walls and doors. That means it can detect motion from objects that are not even in the same room as the light and turn it on. This gives the impression that the light is malfunctioning. It can appear to cycle on and off at random or come on and then not turn off at all. What is actually happening is it is picking up motion in adjacent rooms or maybe though windows. I have tested three of the lights and they all did the same thing. The problem is not that they are defective. Rather the problem is that the motion sensor is too sensitive and works too well! I tried to reduce the sensitivity of the motion detector by covering the entire assembly with faraday (steel mesh) tape thinking this would interfere with the microwaves. I thought the faraday tape would act like the metal mesh screening that is in the glass doors of microwave ovens. The faraday tape had little to no effect on the sensitivity of the motion sensor. Aluminum foil did not work either. At this point, I am at a loss for what to do. If there are any electrical engineers out there that have any ideas for how to easily desensitize this thing, I would love to hear from you. Meanwhile, I will probably take the light back to Home Depot and replace it with one that uses an infrared sensor.

Tried our 2nd one and both were useless....when our second one actually worked it was really bright but the motion sensor didn't work and in less than 24 hours it was completely dark....lights not working at all

Yes we had to move ours out of our basement because our house is an older house and every time you walked anywhere in the living room it came on it was on a lot and we moved it to our laundry room which is adjacent to our kitchen not sure that’s gonna work either because it does go on and off a lot just walking by the pantry door it comes on

why it is not possible to instal those light in the citchen

I bought one two years ago and now it's flickering like crazy, is it done ? Does anyone has have the same problem? What do I do from here? Does it have any warranty? I bought it at home Depot.

Can you replace the bulbs if they burn out? Are they easy to find? Are they standard bulbs or special ones you have to get from the maker of the unit?

@@Jeffreviews4u 30 years? I find that very hard to believe. They might as well have said 3000 years! But I like the idea of a bright garage - you need to see what you're doing, especially if you have a woodworking hobby and such, and these lights look plenty bright.

My beyond bright ultra will not shut itself off when in motion mode. Guess I got a defective one.

It sounds like you bought the original 1st edition of Beyond Bright. It only has an on and off. The ultra edition has the white dome in the center of the light fixture and has on/off/motion on the switch.

Do I have to have the switch on the wall to on position for the motion sensor to work?

@@Jeffreviews4u I've tried 2 so far - both were set to 'Motion' and both have turned 'on' when there is no motion in the room. That won't work for me - I don't want a garage light that goes on and off indiscriminately. I've experimented with cardboard 'screens' to block the motion sensor and 'aim' the detector toward the garage door. The light still comes on when there is no motion in the garage. The brightness and color temperature are great, LED panel flexibility is great, but the motion activation is not reliable.

Same here but when I turned off the main switch on my light and then set beyond bright ultra on motion then it works. Like Jeff said it take about a minute to turn off. Motion sensor is quick I set this on my basement.

Does it get wet? I have a covered porch but wouldn't use it there because of moisture. Also in my opinion it's too bright for that.

I installed this light (Home Depot) in my attached two car garage. The sensors go off after 30 seconds with no motion detected. Now comes the problem. The sensors are so strong , that the lights go on even when I'm in the adjacent mud room or hallway next to my garage and I'm actually in my condo. I have calculated that if you are within 8-10 feet even behind doors and walls the sensor will pick up motion.

@@Jeffreviews4u The motion is WAY to sensitive! Like Motorcity33 stated, it's true it can detect me through doors. I put green frog tape over the sensor and it still picks me up behind our garage door. That's insane! Love to hear if someone here figured out what to put over the sensor to desensitize it? Aluminum foil? If I can't figure it out I'm going to install a motion switch on my actual switch which works like a real motion sensor should, unlike this one that uses radio, x-ray, gamma-rays, or whatever.

Excellent brightness. The sensor is super sensitive. It is impractical. It will go back to BJ's immediately.

Amazon or home depot. BUT, read the reviews before you buy one. The motion sensor is overly sensitive and stays on all the time. I'm returning mine to home depot.

We purchase the last model and it did not even last a year. Suppose to last 30 years????????? Company warranty is 30 days but only if purchased thru them . No replacement light. Would never by again.

trash! had 4 all burnt out inside of a year. dont waste your money on products that dont even have a website on the box
