American Requiem and Ya Ya is such a good style on her, she could easily slay a 70s rock blues psychedelic album and I’m living for this. II most II wanted, blackbird, bodyguard, my rose and daughter are such bops and legit made me cry. Like that italian part? Woo lord mary jesus, the vocals 😭🩷 and sweet honey buckin and tyrant is my jam for the summer idc 🔥🔥🤠

It’s so funny because I kinda had a similar response to bodyguard at first too. I knew I liked it but I didn’t think it would be one of my favorites upon initial listen and it is now ♥️

Paul McCartney dedicated Blackbird and wrote it for black women back in segregation time he is very pleased with her version and renditions

Fun fact about the horse of the album cover is a Lipizzan horse, that breed of horse are born black but as they mature they turn white. It’s super symbolic to the history of country music. Also, Linda Martell who is apart of two tracks was first commercially successful black female artist in the country music field, Linda Martell. Her song "Color Him Father" was the highest-charting country single by a black female artist on the US Country chart for 55 years. Unfortunately, she only had the chance to make one album before being blackballed from country music
