Honestly.. you hit the nail on the head - I almost didn't post this because on the first listen, there were so many things that I'd missed initially... and over the past four weeks, I've heard more, and more and more... and I just continue to marvel at how someone this musically gifted, can also have the ability and the patience to continue to speak on things that are so important to so many... and yet still be torn down. ​@bperez8656 BINGO. 27 catagories that make up the country music genre. Americana is one of them. Americana is country music blended with several other genres which helped shape country music as it is today. So for those who rush to judgement and declare her new album as not being "country" music, they say this because it does not fit into their own perception of what country music should sound like to them. Nor is it supposed too. Music resonates differently with different people. I have no problem with those who listen to it and push themselves away from the table. Thats ok. Just dont declare that Beyonce does not reserve the right to dabble in it. THEN, we have a problem.

So this album was supposed to be 1st and then Renaissance...so play That Girl (1st song on Renaissance) right after Amen (last song on Cowboy Carter) it transitions seamlessly!!! She is so creative

I had to watch this again! My faves still hold up from the first time! Blackbiird - Just simple and beautiful. The deeper meaning; why P. McCartney wrote it and the women she chose to sing with her, is also very poignant for me. 16 Carriages - I knew we were gonna get a masterpiece after hearing this song for the first time. So vulnerable! I didn't think of it before, but she's telling her story while simultaneously telling the stories of all the artists who performed on the Chitlin Circuit. We really need to pay homage to all those people! "Spaghettii" - A complete bop. The title alludes to Spaghetti Westerns which were low-budget and Italian tying back to Daughter. In the genre of rap, southern rap is country, imo, so this fits right in. "Alliigator Tears" - I loooove the slowed down feel of this one. Like a scorching hot summer day; too humid to move fast. I think the title means the same as crocodile tears but she's from the South, we have gators. In the song, I think she knows she's being manipulated, but doesn't care. "Ya Ya" - Another fave! Searing social commentary and a bop. Tyrant - Who wrote this!? 🥵 The production! The arrangement! The groove! The sexiness! "Sweet*Honey*Buckiin" - A fave! So country! So fun! Maybe not in the current conventional way, but in the way I recognize country. I love the lines "put some grits on the stove. Jiffy cornbread, booty corn fed, body rolls at the rodeo, I'm coming home" (iykyk)!

I grinned from ear to ear reading this Brenda - despite having spoken with you about this on Patreon too!! Haha, this is the album that keeps on giving... and I fist bumped the air on every point you made! Wow... what an artist to bring such a spotlight to such a HUGE area - born from out and out ignorance and ill-education - but metamorphosised into something beautiful for us all to take stock and appreciate... whilst all the while sounding DAMN GOOD! 🤩🤩🤩✨
