Sorry y’all, we do get pretty chatty in this. It annoyed me as I was editing it 😂 I promise as the week has gone by we’ve done deeper listens to CC to concentrate more on lyrics and themes. I have it playing just about all day every day. Fully obsessed. First reaction we just hit play and had fun though. Thanks for watching!

the lore of this album runs so deep it’ll be studied in universities for years just like self-titled, lemonade and renaissance have been. the concept of a drunken night listening to a radio station is SO well executed. she goes from lamenting about america’s horrid past, to reminiscing on her childhood, to struggling as a parent, to imagining her mother’s heartache and seeking revenge, to getting high and experiencing a bad trip, to falling in love and losing it then finding it again, imagining herself in a movie, coming down, picking herself up and leaving the bar. all of this executed while also paying homage to americana/folk and country’s black roots, weaving together interpolations and samples from a whole host of other collaborators. she really is a master of her craft AND a student of the past, always paying homage to those who came before her in order to push culture and art FORWARD. 34 years in this business and she ain’t slowing down yet. a LEGEND. many laymans will continue to appear foolish due to their lack of comprehension regarding this album and indeed her career as a whole

This is my favorite Cowboy Carter reaction!! I’m so jealous of how much you can enjoy Beyoncé with your mom. This is the kinda moment I try to have with my mom over Beyoncé lol. Y’all had the same favorites as me to, American Requiem, YaYa & II Hands to Heaven are everything. I got emotional during Just for Fun & II Most Wanted as well, such beautiful tender songs that make you want to go on a drive with people you love. I’m loving you in your Beyhive era Zach lol & your mom is everything I love how much she appreciated Bey’s vocals & artistry. Hope to see y’all out on this tour we might have to go full Western & rob a train to make it happen though 😂❤. PS: That sweatshirt is everything Zach you look cute n cozy lol

AMERIICAN REQUIEM Absolutely beautiful intro. She refers to her experience performing her country song off Lemonade called "Daddy Lessons" at the CMAs back in 2016. Her and the Chicks experienced very poor treatment, and it was clear many were not excited about Beyoncé being in a country setting. She now is reminding us that not only is she from Texas and has roots throughout the South, but she is also black which are the people who created the Country music genre. The cover art for this album includes the rare breed horse "Lipizzaner," which are born darker in color and lighten up as they grow older; This can be a direct analogy to the Country music genre having been started by black people and is now a predominantly white genre in America.

The Chitlin Circuit sustained Black musicians + performers during the era of racial segregation in the USA🇺🇸 from the 1930s-1960s well into Jim Crow. Beyoncé is working part time as a historian providing teachings via context clues in her imagery + live performances. 🐎🤠Cowboy Carter is a bold, ambitious album in Beyoncé’s discography-an audio museum emceed by country legends Willie Nelson + Dolly Parton. We get transported inside Honey B’s country music’s hallowed halls to find Linda Martell whom became the first commercially successful Black female artist in the country music field and the first to play the Grand Ole Opry. Beyoncé pays it forward cutting checks to the current Black Birds of country music today. What a legacy she is carving out and will leave behind. Top 5: Tyrant/Sweet Honey Buckin 👑🐎(trap country to dance house country sub genre) Ya Ya (Tina Turner + Little Richard tributes) 🙌🏾🙌🏾 II Heaven (Jodeci feels) Desert 🦅 (Chaka Khan-esque bass riffs. Double entendre of a 🔫 or a sex position) Bodyguard (Sheryl Crow ran so Julius could run)

I thoroughly enjoyed your guy's reaction. This album is a masterpiece. Beyoncé always shows how innovative she is by thinking out of the box. You can clearly tell how serious she is about her craft and the work she puts in. This album is a pure masterpiece.

She didn’t understand what you meant by country rap and I’m glad that you actually understood what it is. Cause people from up north rap different, from out west and cali rap different and down south the rap is different. The slang, the style, the cadence.

I cannot believe I have binged all 7+ years worth of AZB videos within the last week or so. Also, what has pulled me thru a lot lately. Love y’all, sincerely. 🖤
