    Most fiberglass hood manufacturers state, "dont use stock hood shocks: due to them holding up a heavy steel one" thus they go hood pin hood latches. I like the hood pin idea as a style but the lockable latch would be best so no one can just pop your hood and mess with your engine bay.

    The stock hood latch is still there. So you must pull the thing under the steering wheel to unlatch it.

    I did this same job on a 1970 Z28 for an L88 fiberglass hood. It was the straight chrome pins with the large push thru clips and worked great. The fun fact is it was 50 years ago this month. We are glad to see Modifying is still strong. Thank You.

    Those hood pins look good but wait until they freeze solid and you need to add washer fluid.

    I understand the fear of hood popping at high speed. My Mustang with Stock Hood did the same thing at 120mph and up. So I added hood latches, problem solved. I really like that hood on your truck and can't wait to see the widebody kit. Keep up the amazing work.

    Had the same issue 20yrs ago. At the time the only solution was the tall circle hood pins with a clevis/lynch pin unless they were glassed with side hood latches that attach to the fenders

    Had this same issue. I was planning on doing the hood pins but I wanted the cleaner “OEM” look. I just added metal plates that went next to the hood latch to give it a batter base for the latch. The hood latch metal plate is literally like a 3x3 piece of metal.

    🤙 Love your content my man. If interested, another mod to have is a sumoprings on the rear. It’s great when towing, more cushion, keeps your leveled truck leveled better (or lifted). I love it on my 2020 gmc sierra 1500. Just something to look at. Keep up the great work!

    A lot of the time the original engines and mount points were removed to make ungodly or godly engines , turbos and superchargers fit. These pins are the only option we have a lot of times. Eventually you’ll just ditch the hinges altogether. Nothing like working on an engine without a hood blocking light and looking over your head.

    Hey brother! I love Mobil 1 oil also!!! But I noticed you're using 0W-20 which is water-thin. Have you thought about going 5W-30? My Durango SRT calls for 5W-20 and even that is watery. Also as you might know the HEMI is famous for the 'HEMI Tick," because not enough oil is getting splashed up to the upper areas of the engine but a thicker oil stays around longer - that's my main reason for a heavier oil, but I've never been a fan of thin oil. And I also love adding Liqui Moly CeraTech. PS. I can't stop modifying my baby which is good & bad. Cheers! 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁

    Off topic but not totally. I did a 1.75” redylift level in my 22 at4 and it seems to have given me a small vibration noise over 50mph. I did have it aligned after and I still have the stocks wheels and tires. Is this normal?

  • @LonestarHawaiian

    @LonestarHawaiian

    3 ай бұрын

    You shouldn’t be hearing or feeling vibrations after the lift. It’s possible the noise is from your tires. I would double check your wheels are mounted flush and torqued to spec. You could also rotate the front to rear to see if the noise changes. If that doesn’t solve it it might be worth taking it back to the alignment shop to double check the alignment

    I like you show this is not personal but i guess it could be. These extra led lights should be illegal. Im so tired of being blinded by idiots on public streets. They needs to be a 5000.00 fine for any extra lights being on during driving. Plus there needs to be a fine and inforced for factory or replaced lights not aimed or brighter then legal limit 2000.00. It is very dangerous for people at night to run these lights. This has to stop.
