My brother mocked his son for buying a Velar when he himself drove a Mercedes. The Merc was forever at the dealer whilst the RR has been faultless. He sold the Mercedes and bought a Renault! Yes, the Merc ticked him off that badly.

@@bruh-fn5dh That's a reputation...They break down as many drivers do -5miles trips,DPfs clog, engine barely warmed etc. Every car will have faults, however it's down the driving style.

Fiesta is the type of driver that drives 130 on the unrestricted part and then goes full throttle as soon as roadworks begin.

It’s really good to see that RR have come through this generation with a simple and clean design theme that trails throughout all of their models.

That driving segment with the 2 views is brilliant because you don't have to keep flipping back and forth. Great video

That black door trim looks like forged carbon fibre. Basically short chopped carbon fibres in a random mesh moulded under pressure with resins. Nice.

For me one of the Most striking aspects of the rear view of the new Range Rover Sport is the "hidden" rear windscreen wiper. A much cleaner and more "efficient"(?) placement than on even much more expensive "S.U.V"/genuine Off-Roaders.....

I enjoyed watching the Video Review. The best Range Rover Sport ever 😊

Where is the spare wheel location on this RR Sport? Under the floor like on the Discovery?

My experience re reliability: Within 30,000 km, Air suspension failure, front head light failure, interior light failure, door lock failure, laggy screens, power head rest failure, leather seat edges coming a part on two spots…. However, I love the commanding seating position and visibility which keeps me buying Range Rovers. As long as you have warranty and an extra car your good ;)

Which RR model is that? I just placed my order for a 23 RR Sport in Giola Green with all options in SE Dynamic trim. My current ride is 21 LX570 Sport, and I can't wait to get my RR to get built. Hopefully, RR has addressed most of these issues on the new RRs because it will be a bummer to suffer these issues on a $109k vehicle.

Yes indeed, the new Ultrafabrics interior is so lovely and even way better quality than the leather interior (leather interior looks 10 years old after 1 week), however engine reliability etc. should atm only buy these vehicles with warranty or at least pick the BMW engine (V8)

I just bought a 2023 range rover sport autobiography. I tried to watch videos from a USB but it seems there's no way you can do that. When a USB is connected it says theres nothing to play. I tried with the all supported formats but no luck. It only plays MP3. Does anyone have a solution?

Hi Thomas, can you give any indication of the fuel consumption in hybrid mode and how long the battery will last with hybrid driving. I currently drive an EV but am interested in this to remove the challenge with range. I understand petrol only is likely to return about 22mpg, and understood that in hybrid motorway driving this would double. Thanks

totally depends on how often you recharge it, efficiency is not good with this vehicle in general, so it is rather about if energy is cheap in your country and you recharge it frequently

you might need the stormer pack with the limited slip diff and the v8, there is an svr coming too

The electric motor on the door handle mechanism is just another thing waiting to break.

Great review as always. Would be interesting if you compared the big SUVs on snow roads or farm tracks to show their capabilities. Not many used as intended but in Scotland a lot are for skiing, farmers, high roads in winter etc. Totally agree with your summary, it’s what YOU want. I’ve owned a Cayenne which has great dynamics and quality, and a Range Rover Sport which is compromised in dynamics because of its off road capabilities and the ride is far superior. If I lived in Germany I’d buy a Cayenne due to your road quality and speed limits and in Scotland a Range Rover for the same reason 😉

@@autogefuehl ah got it! Yes, both Mercedes and KIA/Hyundai have good lane centering tech--- just glad that Land Rover finally has lane centering + adaptive cruise standard with their Range Rovers!

What's the fuel economy like? (If it's in the video I missed it). I quite like the interior and the creative solution with the knobs (3 functions in one knob!). Intriguing car.

for PHEV it's kinda tough to say. But what I can say is that without recharging at all, it is like 10-11 l / 100 km sadly

Thanks for the detail review. Just wondering if anyone here has driven the P400 also the D300 of the this model. In Australia we have both engines available to order ( Diesel comes first, petrol in 2024), not so sure which one to order. I driven the D300 of the Range Rover sport, also own a D300 defender. Can’t compliant so far, great engine.

I’m in Belgium and I considered to buy one, but then the dealer told me that in an autobiography, the sound system is only 400 watts for electronic chips problem, but you pay the 800watt system without having it!!! And that you don’t have the hands free tailgate for the same reason, but you still pay it!! Moreover the delivery date is in 15 months, and if you order it they don’t fix the price for you, they revise the price at the delivery and they probably will increase the price then!!! So I changed my mind. I’m considering a Lotus Eletre rather than this range rover sport. The Eletre is even more advantageous for the taxes system in Belgium.

does it challenge German competitors? interesting approach considering RR has been in the market with luxury SUV decades before any German competitor. Besides being quite "konkurrenzlos". Range rovers play in their own league. unfortunately because with that they have become quite unaffordable.

A long overdue update but not very bold is it ? Velar looks a lot better

Tomas.. I feel that I must take issue with one comment you made in your otherwise excellent video on the Plug In Rajge Rover Sport... You referred to Landrover Range Rovers being on the "outside" of the "S.U.V" market sector when compared to German rivals from Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Porsche etc. Whilst these marques may dominate the market in some respects it should not be forgotten that it was indeed LandRover from the U.K. who pioneered the concept of a genuine "Off Road "capable vehicle, yet at the same time offering a far greater level of comfort than any similar alternative, when the first RangeRovers were launched in 1970..!!..

There's only one car with rear axle steering : the one and only Honda Prelude!

It’s so frustrating that right now none of the Premium brands has managed to make the perfect SUV. This vehicle takes cares of the minuses from BMW (X7) or Porsche … and viceversa. I’ll wait another 2 years until someone gets their act together before I hand them $150K

THIS IS A MUCH BETTER DESIGN THAN "THE" RANGE ROVER, WHICH IS ALMOST COMICAL IN COMPARISON.

Design language is clean, reliability and residuals will be terrible. Same as it ever was.🎉

I'm torn between waiting to get another Volvo with the latest and greatest interior or get a Range Rover something. I like how I feel in both. I've been rather fortunate with reliability of the Volvo. The Range may have reliably issues but you only live once. I don't know. I'm still not yet ready for a Tesla but we'll see.

i never understood why range rovers especially sport is so slow, needs to be under 4.0s acceleration for that price range to compete with XM5

This is a great car, but this is not how PHEV is supposed to be implemented: with this large battery, Land Rover must use only electric motors for the traction, leaving the gas engine exclusively as a range extender, working under optimum efficiency and durability parameters. There is no logic whatsoever to do PHEV in any other way.

I stopped watching after seeing the motorized door handle. What are they thinking?

Thomas, great review. I find that car companies are failing to be creative on design now. This RR Sport, the Valor, and the Evoque are the same the difference is size and interior. It's like the new C Class, E Class, and S Class, you just can't tell the difference unless you measure size. The previous RR Sport was unique. This one is just a Supersized Evoque or Large Valor. No creativity from design team. But the interior is nice. Although the build quality is poor for the price tag. I will stick to the Germans Thank You.

Gone Are The Days Of Range Rover Quality ! These Cars Are Beautiful On The Outside But Trash On The Inside. My Sister Had 9 Major Issues On Her 95,000 Dollar Velar That Couldn't Be Fixed. The Dealers Have Many Of These Cars Sitting On Their Lots Waiting To Be Fixed Or Sent Back To The Factory. Beware Of These Cars ! Too Many Liability Issues !! 🤑💰💰💰

The reason the German SUV’s suck is because of their looks. Plain ugly or oversized without any trace of elegance.

Check out Warrantywise data from 131000 customers. All the best from Germany are in the bottom ten for reliability. The worst being Porsche! Guess all the premium cars are just too complicated?
