My Husband and I just ordered this for my Mother in Law. She'll be 94 in April. I think this will be her first Chanel. Yay. She so deserves it.

Eau Premiere is GORGEOUS, from first sniff it instantly became my top Chanel.

Eau Premiere is my favorite of them all. It's so soft and powdery while still maintaining the orignal DNA. Super classy scent!

The Eau Premiere does feel like it caters more towards modern taste. Glad you found a no.5 that you like.

Hi Arlene! I received my #5 premiere today and to me it smells identical to #5 . I do luv it though. I also received my roses on ice sample, after wearing it it reminded me of a past edp I have, . To me it smells like oscar de la renta marine! I purchased it about 15 years ago. . Luv your chanel!!!!!

The chanel no 5 premiere was my favorite perfume out of the chanel perfumes!

I need to try a sample of this. I have Chanel No.5, but only to have it, it's not really my speed. At least I got it for pretty cheap since I had a $100 reward at Sephora.

I love no 5 Eau premiere I bought it when I was in New York with my daughter for my birthday and when I wear it it reminds me of that special trip xxx❤❤❤

I have never tried this one, but your description makes me curious. I too can't get into the original, probably too many scent associations throughout the years.

I love this version too... it is a very soapy and aldehydic yellow floral fragrance with a hint of white floral, which I love! It's very clean smelling too. It is the only N°5 that I like. The EDP has too much oakmoss and too strong an aldehyde note in it for me and L'eau is too citrusy, but Eau Premiére is just right!

My husband loves this scent on me.

Its my summer smell. Edp in winter.

I also prefer Eau Premiere to the original. It is modern, bubbly, classy, elegant but w/ the Chanel DNA all over it. It is also a lot more citrusy. I feel this can be an every day signature scent and not just for evenings. It's that effortless French chic; I enjoy this one A LOT!!

I just used my Ulta points to get this one! I also struggle with the original.

I seriously wanted to have a girl. She would've been my fifth child. I wanted to name her Chanel, so she can be Chanel #5

Hi Arlene! I really like Eau Premiere. I can't do the original No5 at all. I honestly don't get the appeal of that one? I kind of feel like I am missing out on something! 🤷‍♀️ When Eau Premiere came along..I just loved it. I bought the first incarnation. A tall slender bottle. Not sure if they reformulated it, but they changed the bottle to their classic square shape. I get lemon from Eau Premiere. Not overwhelming, a smooth lemony note. It is bubbly to me too. I really enjoy it so much! I recently picked up a bottle. I would tell everyone, don't let the No5 part put you off...this one is a modern new scent. Hope you and your family have a Happy Holiday! I never liked No. 5 either. Smells too mature and dated. However, we cannot dismiss it since it's one of the most iconic fragrance of all time. No. 5 Eau Premiere on the other hand is youthful, fresh but still classy like her older sister. This one is one of my favorite perfume!

I don't like the original EDT or EDP at all. I have both the L'eau and Eau Premiere and I like both of them. The Eau Premiere reminds me of Shalimar Cologne EDT. I wore this on one arm and the Shalimar Cologne EDT on the other and they are similar on me. It seems like there are a bunch of Shalimar flankers and I've tried several. I like the Shalimar Cologne EDT and the Shalimar Souffle Intense EDP the best. Take care, Ginny 😘😘😘

Well spotted, I too got Shalimar vibes, probably it's because Premiere has more added vanilla compared to the original No5, and the choice of birch tar note to make the sandal wood note more realistic compared to the synthetic pencil shaving smell in other modern perfumes. Hint of Shalimar EdT, definately, but in this case I do think it's accidental and not intentional, because Eau Premiere still smells unmistakeably of No5, Premiere has Chanel DNA written all over .... however the L'eau doesn't .. at least not in my opinion.

Love eau premiere and l’eau! Lemony 🍋 sparks ⚡️ of vanilla cream 🍦I love Chanel’s vanilla better than Guerlain’s vanilla, also love Allure EDP and EDT 🤤

Love your descriptions. "Bubly champagne oured in a cold glass" sounds intriguing to me!

I wore it on my skin yesterday and it worked very well. Felt bougie in my pyjamas :)

I tried it several times and I hoped I'd like it, but on my skin the dry down is just too soapy. I also can't wear the No. 5, and I had high hopes i'd like this one but no, I'm not there yet :). I'm staying with No. 5 l'Eau, and I'm happy with it for the moment.

Premiere is my favorite chanel 5. I detest chanel 5 edp 1980s. I can happily wear chanel extrait parfum from the 20s Its the 80s version of chanel number 5 that puts people off.

I have it , it is very élégant n subtil.

Chanel No 5 EDP and Chanel L’eau EDT is the exact same perfume, but Premiere is EDP and L’eau is EDT. There’s nothing different about it and people like the EDT version because it’s less potent that’s all. I’m really surprised if people don’t know this and they think it’s two different perfumes. It’s the same thing one is EDT and one is EDP I prefer the EDP.

Although #5 is considered to be the Mona Lisa of fragrance achievements, it's possible that this one might just top it. The problem was that nobody got it, least of all Chanel themselves. What is Eau Premiere? It really doesn't smell like #5. It was launched when celebrity fragrance was all the rage, and impact was everything. Eau Premiere is subtle, intelligent, universal. It combines better with body chemistry. It's a bespoke accessory, not a billboard. Desperate to see a body lotion in this.
