BETTER THAN SOMETHING: JAY REATARD - Official Trailer
Фильм және анимация
For Jimmy Lee Lindsay, known to his fans and detractors as Jay Reatard, life was a race against time. After growing up fast among Memphis crack addicts, he managed to blaze a path through the rough-and-tumble underground rock scene of the early aughts, releasing over 100 singles, EPs and full-length records in fourteen years. Then on January 13, 2010, not yet 30, he died.
Jay said "I just try to make as much as I can with the time that I have." By any measure, that is exactly what he did. Better Than Something is both a testament to Jay Reatard's indisputable legacy and a tribute to his vital, thrilling, and all-too-brief life.

From a French dude, thinking about Jay and listening to his music more than 10 years after he passed... RIP Jay, I'll forever miss you. It broke my heart back then, and it still does today. You died way too young man...
He hated Elvis so saying "he was an Elvis type character" is probably the shittiest description they could've used

Why hate Elvis? Granted, I definitely like Buddy Holly more ...

@@Nominay he grew up around people who idolized elvis and it was another way of rebelling. hence his cass "fuck elvis, here's the reatards".
Miss you jay found your music like 2 or 3 months ago best click of my life.
Somebody hurt him really really bad. Thank god he processed it and turned it into something beautiful. You have helped me a lot, Jay. Also fuck whoever hurt you. Hope someday they have a soul.
STILL makes me sad to think that he's gone. Losing Jay was as bad as losing a family member.
We all miss you jay rest easy
Saw him a few moths before he died in a tiny venue...amazing....he was a really nice guy too. Sad
I wouldn't say it's dead, bands like the Wavves and Nobunny are still putting out music... is that what punks think of us hip-hop heads? Well, I don't care, rap is my favorite genre, and I think it will remain that way. My favorite artist of all time is Jay though. Hip-hop will never die, it keeps progressing. It's one of the easier genres to maintain stable and healthy.
Thank you. I love that song!
The film is currently playing at festivals, and not available on DVD yet. Please follow the links for latest updates.
I wish I could have met him just to tell him how much his music means to me
Fucking hero.
Jay wouldn't be happy to have been compared to Elvis in the beginning.
Can this movie screening please please come to my town? I would do anything dammit.
That early footage is pure gold man!!! Has this been released yet??? Anyone???

He just reminds me of a Eddie Vedder wannabe. But I see how many people like him, so I am going to watch some more videos about Jay. There must be a reason why they adore him. I am open to conviction. ;)

I don't wanna sound offensive but to me this guy wanted to be a young Eddie Vedder. He seems like a copy, no original.
What a fucking tragedy.
